Football Clubs In South Holland
Football is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball to score a goal. Unqualified, the word ''football'' generally means the form of football that is the most popular where the word is used. Sports commonly called ''football'' include association football (known as ''soccer'' in Australia, Canada, South Africa, the United States, and sometimes in Ireland and New Zealand); Australian rules football; Gaelic football; gridiron football (specifically American football, arena football, or Canadian football); International rules football; rugby league football; and rugby union football. These various forms of football share, to varying degrees, common origins and are known as "football codes". There are a number of references to traditional, ancient, or prehistoric ball games played in many different parts of the world. Contemporary codes of football can be traced back to the codification of these games at English public schools during the 19th ce ...

Lansingerland
Lansingerland is a municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. It was formed on 1 January 2007, by the merger of the municipalities of Berkel en Rodenrijs, Bleiswijk and Bergschenhoek, collectively known as the "B-Triangle". The former municipality of Tempel, abolished in 1855, is also part of Lansingerland. The name was chosen from a competition and derived from the name Lansingh, the height-of-land between the Delfland and Schieland Water Boards, which runs between the "3B-Triangle" villages. The choice of name is symbolic: the name of the border that formerly divided the area, now unites it. The "h" in Lansingh was dropped to ease spelling. Lansingerland consists of the following communities: * Bergschenhoek * Berkel en Rodenrijs * Bleiswijk * Tempel (deserted) *De Rotte *Kruisweg Politics On 18 September 2007 Ewald van Vliet was installed as the first mayor of Lansingerland. Hoofdklasse
The Vierde Divisie (; "Fourth Division"), formerly known as Hoofdklasse () is the second-highest league of amateur football in the Netherlands, and the fifth tier in general. Background The league was divided into two sections: Saturday and Sunday. This was a result of the traditional pillarisation (), the segregation of Dutch society. The ''Saturday'' clubs are mainly Protestant Christian clubs, who were not allowed to play on Sunday. The ''Sunday'' clubs were in general Catholic and working class clubs, whose players had to work on Saturday and therefore could only play on Sunday. Although the pillarisation ended in the 1960s and 1970s, the clubs and the league maintained this division until 2023. The Saturday Hoofdklasse and the Sunday Hoofdklasse were divided into two leagues each from the 2016–17 to 2022–23 seasons: * Clubs in the Saturday Hoofdklasse A and Sunday Hoofdklasse A were from the central, northern and western parts of the Netherlands. * Clubs in the Saturday ...

Klomp
A ''klomp'' (, plural ''klompen'' ) is a whole-foot clog from the Netherlands. Along with cheese, tulips, and windmills, they are strongly associated with the country and are considered to be a national symbol of the Netherlands. Usage Approximately three million pairs of klompen are made each year. They are sold throughout the Netherlands. A large part of the market is for tourist souvenirs, though some Dutch people, particularly farmers and market gardeners, still wear them for everyday use. Outside the tourist industry, klompen can be found in local tool shops, local tourist shops and garden centers. The traditional all-wooden Dutch clogs have been officially accredited as safety shoes with the CE mark and can withstand almost any penetration including sharp objects and concentrated acids. They are actually safer than steel-capped protective shoes in some circumstances, as the wood cracks rather than dents in extreme accidents, allowing easy removal of the clog and not con ...
