TASIS England, formally known as TASIS The American School in England, is an American international school, international boarding and day school in England. Founded in 1976, it is the second-oldest of the TASIS Schools, a Swiss group of American international boarding schools. Located in Thorpe, Surrey, Thorpe, Borough of Runnymede, Runnymede, in the Surrey, County of Surrey, the school enrolls approximately 650 pupils from around the world. History TASIS stands for The American School in Switzerland. TASIS England was originally set up as a branch of that school based in Surrey, England. TASIS or TASIS Switzerland, formally known as The American School In Switzerland, is a private American international boarding and day school in Switzerland. Located in Montagnola, Collina D'Oro near Lugano, in the Canton of Ticino, the school enrolls approximately 700 pupils from around the world. It offers a primary school, middle school and high school. Accreditation Switzerland TASIS's (upper) secondary education (middle and high school) is not approved as a Mittelschule/Collège/Liceo by the Swiss Federal State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), meaning it does not offer the Swiss Federal Matura. TASIS Portugal, formally known as The American School in Portugal, is a private American international school in Portugal. It is the newest of the four TASIS Schools, a Swiss group of American international schools. Located in Linhó, Sintra, on the Portuguese Riviera, the school enrolls pupils from around the world. History The fourth of the TASIS Schools, TASIS Portugal was established in 2020. Its campus was founded within the Quinta da Beloura in Linhó, Sintra, an affluent village on the Portuguese Riviera, west of Lisbon. Academics Elementary and middle students follow the Core Knowledge Foundation curriculum. The high school, currently under development, will have an International Baccalaureate program.
