Sutherland Sharks FC is an Australian association football club based in the suburb of Sutherland in Sydney, New South Wales. The club currently competes in the National Premier Leagues NSW. Its home games are played at Seymour Shaw Park, located in the southern Sydney suburb of Miranda. It is incorporated as a non-profit club. History The origins of Sutherland Sharks are traced back to the founding of Sutherland United SFC in 1930. By 1936, the club had grown markedly leading to a split and formation of the current-day club, albeit under a different name – Casuals Soccer Football Club. In the post-WWII era, the club grew and found success in the St George Football Association but in 1947 they stepped up to the Metropolitan Soccer League (effectively the Sydney 2nd Division, behind only the old NSW Soccer Association 1st Division). Seymour Shaw Park is a Association football, football (soccer) stadium in Miranda, New South Wales, Australia. It is the current home ground of the Sutherland Sharks Football Club who play in the state league, the NSW Premier League, New South Wales Premier League. History Seymour Shaw Park has been the Sharks home ground since the club's move from Sutherland Oval in the late 1950s. The 2012 Waratah Cup was the 10th season of the knockout competition under the Waratah Cup name. The preliminary round for the competition commenced on 23 March 2012. 2009 Waratah Cup
The 2009 Waratah Cup (known as the Tiger Turf Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 13th season of the Waratah Cup since its initial re-introduction in 1991, and the 29th season as the premier domestic cup competition in New South Wales since inauguration in 1957. The defending champions were National Premier Leagues NSW side Bankstown City Lions. The champions were the Sutherland Sharks, defeating Manly United 2–1 in the final. Teams All senior member teams from Premier League, Super League, State League 1 and State League 2 as well as all local association teams were invited to the competition. 2008 NSW Premier League Season
The 2008 TeleChoice Premier League season was the eighth season of the revamped NSW Premier League. This season also marked the promotion of two new teams, in the West Sydney Berries and the Macarthur Rams from the Super League (one division lower). This increased the teams competing in the competition from 10 to 12 teams and the number of rounds from 18 to 22 in the regular season. The 2008 season officially began on 22 February and concluded with the grand final between Wollongong FC and the Sutherland Sharks on 7 September. 2009 NSW Premier League Season
The 2009 TeleChoice Premier League season was the ninth season of the revamped National Premier Leagues NSW. This season also marked the addition of the Bonnyrigg White Eagles Football Club, promoted from the Super League. The 2009 regular season began on 1 March, and concluded on 9 August. The Finals series commenced a fortnight later. On 13 September the Sutherland Sharks Football Club won their second championship of the year when they defeated Marconi Stallions 4–1 in the Grand Final at CUA Stadium.
