Stranda is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Møre og Romsdal Counties of Norway, county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre Districts of Norway, region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Stranda, Møre og Romsdal, Stranda. Stranda consists of three smaller villages and one larger central village. The smaller villages are Hellesylt, Geiranger, and Liabygda. The central village, Stranda, Møre og Romsdal, Stranda (same name as the municipality), has about 2,600 inhabitants. Stranda Municipality is known for tourist attractions such as Geirangerfjorden, Sunnylvsfjorden, and the ski area at . Stranda Church
Stranda Church or Sløgstad Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Stranda Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Stranda, along the western shore of the Storfjorden. It is the church for the Stranda parish which is part of the Nordre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in an octagonal style in 1838 by an unknown architect. The church seats about 260 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to 1432 when it was mentioned in Aslak Bolt's cadastre, but the church was not new that year. The first church in Stranda was a wooden stave church, located on the same site as the present-day church. The church may have been first constructed in the 13th century. Stranda is the administrative centre of Stranda Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located on the western shore of the Storfjorden. Stranda Church (Leksvik)
Stranda Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Indre Fosen Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Vanvikan, on the shore of the Trondheimsfjorden. It is the church for the Stranda parish which is part of the Fosen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1897 using plans drawn up by the architect Knut Guttormsen. The church, which seats about 300 people, was consecrated on 4 May 1897. Stranda Idrottslag is a Norwegian multi-sports club based in the village of Stranda which is located in Stranda Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county. It has sections for association football, team handball, basketball, alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, table tennis and climbing. The club was founded on 15 August 1914. The men's football team plays in the Fifth Division, the sixth tier of Norwegian football. After playing on the third tier, Stranda was relegated from the Second Division in 1992 and had stints in the Third Division from 1993 to 1994 and 1996 to 1999. Winning promotion to the 2000 Norwegian Second Division, they faced relegation after the season.
