Star Wars Spacecraft
The following is a list of starships, cruisers, battleships, and other spacecraft in the ''Star Wars'' films, books, and video games. Within the fictional universe of the ''Star Wars'' setting, there are a wide variety of different spacecraft defined by their role and type. Among the many civilian spacecraft are cargo freighters, passenger transports, diplomatic couriers, personal shuttles and escape pods. Warships likewise come in many shapes and sizes, from small patrol ships and troop transports to large capital ships like Star Destroyers and other battleships.Barr, et al. (2017), p. 182-185 Starfighters also feature prominently in the setting. Many fictional technologies are incorporated into ''Star Wars'' starships, fantastical devices developed over the millennia of the setting's history. Hyperdrives provides for faster-than-light travel between stars at instantaneous speeds, though traveling uncharted routes can be dangerous. Sublight engines allow spacecraft to g ...

Starship
A starship, starcraft, or interstellar spacecraft is a theoretical spacecraft designed for interstellar travel, traveling between planetary systems. The term is mostly found in science fiction. Reference to a "star-ship" appears as early as 1882 in ''Oahspe: A New Bible''. While NASA's ''Voyager program, Voyager'' and ''Pioneer program, Pioneer'' probes have traveled into local interstellar space, the purpose of these uncrewed craft was specifically interplanetary, and they are not predicted to reach another star system; ''Voyager 1'' probe and Gliese 445 will pass one another within 1.6 light years in about 40,000 years. Several preliminary designs for starships have been undertaken through exploratory engineering, using feasibility study, feasibility studies with modern technology or technology thought likely to be available in the near future. In April 2016, scientists announced Breakthrough Starshot, a Breakthrough Initiatives program, to develop a proof-of-concept fleet ...

G-force
The g-force or gravitational force equivalent is a Specific force, mass-specific force (force per unit mass), expressed in Unit of measurement, units of standard gravity (symbol ''g'' or ''g''0, not to be confused with "g", the symbol for grams). It is used for sustained accelerations that cause a perception of weight. For example, an object at rest on Earth's surface is subject to 1 ''g'', equaling the conventional value of gravitational acceleration on Earth, about . More transient acceleration, accompanied with significant jerk (physics), jerk, is called Shock (mechanics), ''shock''. When the g-force is produced by the surface of one object being pushed by the surface of another object, the reaction force to this push produces an equal and opposite force for every unit of each object's mass. The types of forces involved are transmitted through objects by interior Stress (mechanics), mechanical stresses. Gravitational acceleration is one cause of an object's accelera ...
