Star Suvarna Original Programming
Star Suvarna, ''(formerly Asianet Suvarna)'' is an Indian Kannada language general entertainment pay television channel owned by JioStar, a joint venture between Viacom18 and Disney India. It primarily telecast programmes such as serials, reality shows & Kannada films. History It was launched on 17 June 2007 by Jupiter Entertainment Venture (JEV) as Asianet Suvarna owned by Asianet Communications Limited. Star Suvarna is also the first channel in India to give importance to Tulu language programming during the year 2010 despite the channel being known for Kannada language programming. In 2013, Star India acquired Asianet Communications excluding the news channels from their parent company. Suvarna Plus was launched on 14 August 2013. On 25 July 2016, the channel was rebranded as Star Suvarna along with its sister channel Star Suvarna Plus. In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. This format is used in the SMPTE 292M standard. Definition The number "1080" in 1080i refers to the number of horizontal lines that make up the vertical resolution of the display. Tulu Language
The Tulu language (, Tigalari script: , Kannada script: , Malayalam script: ; ) is a Dravidian language whose speakers are concentrated in Dakshina Kannada and in the southern part of Udupi of Karnataka in south-western India and also in the northern parts of the Kasaragod district of Kerala. The native speakers of Tulu are referred to as Tuluva or Tulu people and the geographical area is unofficially called Tulu Nadu. The Indian census report of 2011 reported a total of 1,846,427 native Tulu speakers in India. The 2001 census had reported a total of 1,722,768 native speakers. ''Hara Hara Mahadeva'' is a Kannada mythological television series based on legends of Lord Shiva, also known as Mahadeva. It aired on Star Suvarna beginning 25 July 2016.
