St. Clair County Transit District
The St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) is a transit district that serves fifteen townships in St. Clair County, Illinois, a suburban county southeast of St. Louis. Operation of bus and light rail service is contracted to Metro Transit (St. Louis), Metro Transit. Other services include paratransit and a network of Shared-use path, shared-use paths. History The St. Clair County Transit District was created in 1981 under the authority of the Illinois Mass Transit District Act, it levies a quarter-cent sales tax which funds MetroBus (St. Louis), MetroBus and paratransit service in the member townships. O'Fallon, Illinois
O'Fallon is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The 2020 census listed the population at 32,289. The city is the second largest city in the Metro East region and Southern Illinois. It sits from Scott Air Force Base and from Downtown St. Louis. Like O'Fallon, Missouri, its namesake in St. Charles County, Missouri, O'Fallon is part of the St. Louis metro area. Illinois Route 157 (IL 157) is a north–south state highway in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois. The southern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with IL 3 in Cahokia. The northern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with IL 140 in Hamel. Emerson Park Station (MetroLink)
Emerson Park station is a light rail station on the Red and Blue lines of the St. Louis MetroLink system. This at-grade station is located near 15th Street and Bowman Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois. It also serves as a transfer for MetroBus and Madison County Transit and features 841 park and ride spaces. There is a pedestrian bridge across nearby Interstate 64 that connects this station to other parts of East St. Louis. Prairie Du Pont, Illinois
Dupo is a village in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The population was 4,138 at the 2010 census, an increase from 3,933 in 2000. The village was settled in about 1750 and was incorporated in 1907. Its modern name, adopted in the early 20th century, is shortened from ("Bridge Prairie"). Cahokia Heights is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. It was founded on May 6, 2021, by the merger of the villages of Cahokia and Alorton and the city of Centreville. Curtis McCall Sr. has served as the city's first mayor since 2021. History The formation of Cahokia Heights was part of a campaign and four-phase plan called "Better Together". Curtis McCall Sr., Centreville Township Supervisor, led the consolidation efforts. Fairview Heights Station (MetroLink)
Fairview Heights station is a light rail station on the Red and Blue lines of the St. Louis MetroLink system. This at-grade station is located on the western edge of Fairview Heights, Illinois near the intersection of St. Clair Avenue and Illinois Route 161. It is the eastern terminus of the Blue Line and has a pocket track allowing Blue Line trains to reverse directions and layover between runs. Fairview Heights is primarily a commuter station with 898 park and ride spaces and a large MetroBus transfer. In 2024, the area between the bus bays and MetroLink entrance was updated with vibrantly colored elements in a “Love Where You Live” theme, including large shade structures, seating, trees, planters and banners.
