St Andrews Christian College
St Andrews Christian College is an independent, co-educational school situated in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Wantirna South, Victoria, Wantirna South. The school was founded in 1983 by the Presbyterian Church of Victoria, and takes students from K-12 School, Prep to Year 12. The College expresses a Christian and biblical perspective and approach in its curriculum and culture. Currently there are families from over 35 different Protestant denominations attending the College. The college was the centre of controversy in 2020–22 for its suppression of sexual abuse of students by its former sports teacher and coordinator Steve Mellody, who is a registered sex offender for life. The college also gained notoriety for urging parents to support the controversial religious discrimination bill. St Andrew's College is a residential college at the University of Sydney, in the suburb of Newtown, New South Wales, Australia. The College occupies 4 hectares of land within the main campus of the University of Sydney and was built on a sub-grant of University Land. It is home to over 380 male and female undergraduate students, postgraduate students, resident fellows, and graduate residents. The College is governed by its own elected Council and has offered residency, academic, and social support to students for 150 years. St Andrew's College, also known as StAC, in Christchurch, New Zealand, is an independent, co-educational school that includes a Pre-school, Preparatory School (Years 1–8) and a Secondary School (Years 9–13). History Foundation Founded by Gordon Gray (cardinal), Gordon Gray shortly after he became Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh, the college was operated by the archdiocese in a large country house called Drygrange House.
