Serious Organised Crime Agency
The Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) was a non-departmental public body of the Government of the United Kingdom which existed from 1 April 2006 until 7 October 2013. SOCA was a national law enforcement agency with Home Office sponsorship, established as a body corporate under Section 1 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005. It operated within the United Kingdom and collaborated (through its network of international offices) with many foreign law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Soča (, in Slovene) or Isonzo (, in Italian; other names: ; ; or ') is a long river that flows through western Slovenia () and northeastern Italy (). An Alpine river in character, its source lies in the Trenta Valley in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia, at an elevation of . The river runs past the towns of Bovec, Kobarid, Tolmin, Kanal ob Soči, Nova Gorica (where it is crossed by the Solkan Bridge), and Gorizia, entering the Adriatic Sea close to the town of Monfalcone. Soča (, ) is a dispersed settlement in the Municipality of Bovec in northwestern Slovenia. Geography Soča is located on the upper Soča River in the Goriška region, the northern part of the Slovene Littoral, on the road from Bovec up to Trenta and the Vršič Pass. The territory of the village includes scattered farms on various foothills, promontories, and terraces in the narrow valley. Hamlets and farmsteads in the village include Brvca (a.k.a. Banloc (; ; Banat Swabian: ''Paanlack'') is a communes of Romania, commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of four villages: Banloc (commune seat), Ofsenița, Partoș and Soca. Etymology The name Banloc was originally born by the fusion of two words: the name of the god Pan (god), Pan and the word "loc" (place), "Pan's place". Later, when "pan" became "ban", it kept the original meaning of a master. The Panloc castle became the Banloc castle, name preserved until now. Soca music, or the "soul of calypso", is a genre of music that originated in Trinidad and Tobago in the 1970s. It is considered an offshoot of Calypso music, calypso, with influences from Afro–Trinidadians and Tobagonians, Afro-Trinidadian and Indo–Trinidadians and Tobagonians, Indo-Trinidadian rhythms. It was created by Ras Shorty I (or Lord Shorty) in an effort to revive traditional calypso, the popularity of which had been declining amongst younger generations in Trinidad due to the rise in popularity of reggae from Jamaica and Soul music, soul and funk from the United States.
