Shouson Hill
Shouson Hill () is a hill (148 m high) on the coast of Deep Water Bay east of Wong Chuk Hang, in Southern District, on Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. North of the hill is an affluent residential area, which consists primarily of Shouson Hill Road, a loop off the main Wong Chuk Hang Road, together with a few side roads. Name The hill is named after Chow Shouson, who was born in the village and became a senior official in the Qing Dynasty before the 1911 Revolution and then an active businessman and politician in Hong Kong. History The valley north of Shouson Hill was formerly a cultivated area containing a walled village. It has also been known as Wong Chuk Hang Valley and Staunton's Valley. In the early 20th century, the British military used the hill to bunker troops and as a sentry post overlooking Deep Water Bay, Aberdeen, and area now occupied by Ocean Park. Deep Water Bay
Deep Water Bay is a bay and residential area on the southern shore of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. The bay is surrounded by Shouson Hill, Brick Hill, Violet Hill and Middle Island. As per Forbes (July 2015), with 19 of the city's richest billionaires, it is reputed to be the "wealthiest neighborhood on earth". Beneath the hill of Violet Hill is a beach, Deep Water Bay Beach. Causeway Bay is an area and a bay on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong, straddling the border of the Eastern and the Wan Chai districts. Central Ordnance Munitions Depot
The Central Ordnance Munitions Depot was constructed in the late 1930s by British for the World War II to combat the Japanese Invasion as well as to store arms and ammunition for the defence of Hong Kong. The British used "Little Hong Kong", name for the fishing village town of Aberdeen, as a "code name" to refer to the military site and therefore confuse Japanese spies in the local community before the Japanese invasion. Following a successful proposal made to the Government of Hong Kong for a commercial adaptive reuse of the underground bunkers in 2002, the Central Ordnance Munitions Depot has been renovated to become wine cellars. Wong Chuk Hang San Wai () is a village in the Wong Chuk Hang area of Southern District, Hong Kong. It is located at the bottom of Shouson Hill. Administration For electoral purposes, Wong Chuk Hang San Wai is part of the Bays Area constituency, which is currently represented by Jonathan Leung Chun. History Wong Chuk Hang San Wai was established in the 1860s and 1870s, as the population of nearby Wong Chuk Hang Kau Wai () grew. Wong Chuk Hang Kau Wai had been established in the 18th century by members of the Chow clan of Guangdong province. Sir Shouson Chow is said to have been born in Wong Chuk Hang San Wai in 1861. Stanley, Hong Kong
Stanley, or Chek Chue, is a coastal town and a popular tourist attraction in Hong Kong. It is located on a peninsula on Hong Kong Island. It is east of Repulse Bay and west of Shek O, adjacent to Chung Hom Kok and Tai Tam. Administratively, it is part of the Southern District. Repulse Bay or Tsin Shui Wan is a bay in the southern part of Hong Kong Island, located in the Southern District, Hong Kong. It is one of the most expensive residential areas in the world. Ocean Park Station
Ocean Park () is an MTR rapid transit station in Hong Kong on the eastern section of the , which serves Ocean Park Hong Kong and Wong Chuk Hang. It opened on 28 December 2016 with the rest of the South Island line. It takes around 4 minutes to travel from to Ocean Park station, which is 21 minutes faster than taking the Citybus route 629 from Admiralty station to Hong Kong Ocean Park. The station is built above ground, north of Ocean Park Road, above the Ocean Park Bus Depot. A footbridge links the station with the park entrance. South Island Line
The South Island line, identified by light green on the MTR route map, is a rapid transit line of Hong Kong's MTR metro system. This line connects the HK business district from Admiralty station to the Southern District of Hong Kong Island and the island of Ap Lei Chau, which was not served by any rail transport prior to the opening of this line. The rolling stock of South Island line is purpose-built for driverless operation. Trains are remotely controlled from the Operations Control Centre in Tsing Yi.
