''Kids Incorporated'' (also known as ''Kids Inc.'') is an American children's television program that began production in the mid-1980s and continued airing into the mid-1990s. It was largely a youth-oriented program with musical performances as an integral part of every episode. The pilot episode was shot on September 1, 1983, and the series aired in syndication from September 1, 1984, to December 26, 1985, and on The Disney Channel from November 3, 1986, to January 9, 1994. Lynn Norment, born in Bolivar, Tennessee, is an American journalist known for her 30 years of writing and editing '' Ebony Magazine'' in Chicago, Illinois, United States. She was inducted into the National Association of Black Journalists Hall of Fame in 2009. Personal Norment was born the third child out of nine. Minnie Julia Riperton (November 8, 1947 – July 12, 1979) was an American soul singer and songwriter best known for her 1974 single " Lovin' You", her five-octave vocal range, and her use of the whistle register. Born in 1947, Riperton grew up in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side. As a child, she studied music, drama and dance at Chicago's Abraham Lincoln Center. In her teen years, she sang lead vocals for the Chicago-based girl group The Gems. Her early affiliation with the Chicago-based Chess Records afforded her the opportunity to sing backing vocals for various established artists such as Etta James, Fontella Bass, Ramsey Lewis, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters. ''Inner Child'' is the second studio album by American R&B singer Shanice. It was released on November 19, 1991, by Motown Records. The album peaked at number 13 on ''Billboards Top R&B Albums charta and features a remake of Minnie Riperton's 1974 hit "Lovin' You" which hit number 59 on the R&B Singles chart in the summer of 1992. Shanice would cover the song for a second time on her 2006 album '' Every Woman Dreams''. The UK version of the album features the Driza Bone remix of "I Love Your Smile" as track 14.
