''Shamus'' is a shooter game, shooter with light action-adventure game elements written by Cathryn Mataga (credited as William Mataga) and published by Synapse Software. The original Atari 8-bit computers, Atari 8-bit computer version was released on disk and tape in 1982. According to Synapse co-founder Ihor Wolosenko, ''Shamus'' made the company famous by giving it a reputation for quality. "Funeral March of a Marionette", the theme song from ''Alfred Hitchcock Presents'', plays on the title screen. The player moves through four flip-screen levels, each containing 32 rooms, shooting attackers and collecting keys for locked areas while searching for the exit. ''Shamus'' was inspired by the 1980 ''Berzerk (video game), Berzerk'' arcade video game. Shamus (film)
''Shamus'' is a 1973 American comedy thriller, comedy thriller film directed by Buzz Kulik, and starring Burt Reynolds and Dyan Cannon. The word "wikt:shamus, shamus" means "detective" in American slang. Plot A man named Victor Papas is attacked by two men at his home and burned to death with a flamethrower, along with his girlfriend. Shamus McCoy, a private detective in Brooklyn, New York, receives a request from E.J. Hume, a wealthy man who runs many companies, to find the diamonds that were stolen from Papas as well as about the murderers. Hume says that Papas stole several million dollar worth of diamonds from Hume just before he was killed. McCoy wonders why he was selected to do the job, but is attracted by the high fee and accepts the proposal. McCoy uses his friend Springy, an informant, and a drug dealer he knows to investigate Papas' background, and finds out that he and his girlfriend worked for a company called River Edge Export. ''Tracey McBean'' is an Australian animated children's television series produced by Southern Star Entertainment and Film Australia. The show was aired from 2001 until 2006 on ABC Kids. Overview The main protagonist, Tracey, is a young nine-year-old girl who goes to school with her best friend Shamus. Together they use Tracey's inventions for all kinds of purposes, such as school competitions or simply for fun. Tracey lives in a house and Shamus on the 15th floor of a tall apartment building. Shamus Culhane
James H. "Shamus" Culhane (November 12, 1908 – February 2, 1996) was an American animator, film director, and film producer. He is best known for his work in the Golden age of American animation. Career Shamus Culhane worked for a number of American animation studios, including Fleischer Studios, the Ub Iwerks studio, Walt Disney Productions, and Walter Lantz Productions. He began his animation career in 1925 working for Bray Productions on the Dinky Doodle series, produced under the supervision of Walter Lantz. After Bray he served as an inker on Ben Harrison’s and Manny Gould’s Krazy Kat cartoons before moving to Fleischer Studios in 1929 after producer Charles Mintz did not retain him upon transferring the studio to Hollywood. Shamus Rahman Khan (born October 8, 1978) is an American sociologist. He has been a professor of Sociology and American studies at Princeton University since 2021. Formerly he served as chair of the sociology department at Columbia University. He writes on elites, inequality, gender/sexuality, and American culture. William Shamus O'Brien (November 29, 1907 – November 28, 1981) was an American-Scottish soccer inside left. During his Hall of Fame career, O'Brien spent eight seasons in the first American Soccer League and another five in the second American Soccer League. Youth While born in Scotland, O'Brien's family immigrated to the United States when he was eleven. They initially settled in Newport News, Virginia when his father was hired by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company.
