Serbian Orthodox Church
The Serbian Orthodox Church ( sr-Cyrl-Latn, Српска православна црква, Srpska pravoslavna crkva) is one of the autocephalous (ecclesiastically independent) Eastern Orthodoxy, Eastern Orthodox Eastern Orthodox Church#Constituencies, Christian churches. The majority of the population in Serbia, Montenegro and Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina are Baptism, baptised members of the Serbian Orthodox Church. It is organized into metropolis (religious jurisdiction), metropolitanates and eparchies, located primarily in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia. Senjak
Senjak ( sr-Cyrl, Сењак, ) is an urban neighborhood of Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia. Located in Savski Venac, one of the three municipalities that constitute the very center of the city, it is an affluent neighborhood containing embassies, diplomatic residences, and mansions. Senjak is generally considered one of the wealthiest parts of Belgrade. History and etymology Before it became interesting to Belgrade's upper classes, Senjak was an excellent natural lookout. As many farmers kept their hay throughout the entire city, fires were quite frequent, so it was ordered for hay to be collected and kept in one place, and the area of modern Senjak was chosen, apparently also getting its name in the process (from the word ''seno'', Serbian for hay). Vavedenje Monastery
Vavedenje Monastery ( sr-Cyrl, Манастир Ваведење) is a Serbian Orthodox monastery located in Senjak, an urban settlement in the municipality of Savski Venac in Belgrade. The foundations of the temple were consecrated on August 11, 1935. It was built and consecrated on October 25, 1936 as the metochion of Kuveždin Monastery in Srem. The legend of the construction of the church is related to the dream of the founder Persida Milenković, who fell asleep three times, that the monastery should be built on that very spot. The boarding house, built at the same time as the church, was said to be used as a boarding school for the education of Orthodox charitable sisters, educators and caregivers before its completion. In 1939, there were ten nuns in the monastery doing embroidery work, such as making veils for the table of honor and curtains for the patriarchal chapel. Ripanj ( sr-Cyrl, Рипањ) is a suburban settlement of Belgrade, Serbia. It is located in Belgrade's municipality of Voždovac. It has a distinction of being "the largest village of Serbia" taking in account its number of population, but also because it has the largest area of all rural settlements in the country. Location Ripanj is located some 25 kilometers south of Belgrade, on the southern slopes of the Avala mountain, in the valley of the Topčiderka river.
