The Serbia Open () was a professional tennis tournament, part of the ATP World Tour 250 series, ATP 250 series and the ATP Tour. Held in Belgrade, Serbia and played on outdoor clay courts, the event was held for the first time in 2009 ATP World Tour, 2009. It was the first for Serbia, as the country had never before hosted an Association of Tennis Professionals tournament. The tournament was held as a combined men's and women's event in 2021. This marked the first time in history a WTA Tour, WTA tournament was held in Serbia. The last edition was played in 2022, after which the tournament moved for a one-year period to Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina and rebranded as Srpska Open. The Hungarian Open was a professional men's tennis tournament played on outdoor red clay courts. It was part of the ATP Tour 250 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. It was held annually in April in Budapest, Hungary. The 2021 Serbia Open was a tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 5th and 1st edition of the event for male and female professional tennis players, respectively. It was part of the 2021 ATP Tour and the 2021 WTA Tour and took place in Belgrade, Serbia; in mid-April for men and mid-May for women. The 2008 Australian Open was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 96th edition of the Australian Open, and the first Grand Slam event of the year. It took place at the Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia, from 14 through 27 January 2008. After twenty years of playing on Rebound Ace, the courts were changed to Plexicushion, a marginally faster surface. The new surface is thinner, and therefore has lower heat retention. This decision was made in a bid to reduce the "stick" of the court and the frequency of the extreme heat policy being invoked.
