Sandefjord Fotball, often referred to simply as Sandefjord, is a Norwegian professional football club founded on September 10, 1998. The team currently competes in Eliteserien, the top division of the Norwegian football league system, and plays its home matches at the Jotun Arena in Sandefjord, Vestfold. After reaching 1.divisjon (Norway’s second tier) in 1999, Sandefjord quickly established itself as a strong contender for promotion to the top division. The club finished third in 2002 and 2003, qualifying for promotion play-offs but losing on both occasions. In 2004, Sandefjord finished fourth, and in 2005, they achieved second place, earning automatic promotion to Tippeligaen (now Eliteserien). In their first Tippeligaen season, Sandefjord finished ninth and reached the Norwegian Cup final. Sandefjord Arena
Jotun Arena (previously called Komplett Arena for sponsorship reasons and Sandefjord Arena) is the current stadium of Sandefjord Fotball. It was opened on 21 July 2007, when Lyn visited Sandefjord, and is still the match with the highest attendance of 8,103. Mjøndalen IF is a Norwegian sports club located in Mjøndalen, Buskerud, Norway. Of the different athletic endeavours that the club supports, it may be best known in Norway for its bandy national championship teams and internationally for its association football national championship teams that have competed in UEFA championships. Asker Fotball
Asker Fotball is the football department of Norwegian sports club Asker SK from Asker. The women's football team is one of the most successful clubs ever in Norway, with six top flight championships and five cup championships. Due to financial difficulties at the end of 2008, the team's licence to play in the Toppserien was revoked; the team members then joined Stabæk IF's football group, Stabæk Fotball, which set up a new women's team. NFF gave Asker's place in the Toppserien to Stabæk Fotball. Asker's second team became Asker's first team, playing in the 2. divisjon, and they now have a recruiting arrangement with Stabæk Fotball. Lars Roar Bohinen (born 8 September 1969) is a Norwegian football manager and former professional footballer who is the manager of Jerv. As a player, he was a midfielder from 1986 until 2005, notably playing in the Premier League for Nottingham Forest, Blackburn Rovers and Derby County, as well as spells with Bærum SK, Lyn Oslo, Vålerenga, Viking, BSC Young Boys, Lillestrøm, Lyngby and Farum. Arne Sandstø (born 21 October 1966) is a Norwegian football manager and former player who is head coach at Värnamo. Sandstø made seven appearances in Germany's 2. Bundesliga for Tennis Borussia Berlin during his playing career. Tor Thodesen
Tor Thodesen (born 3 March 1966) is a Norwegian football coach. In 2006, he was awarded the "Coach of the year" award by his colleagues, for his work in Sandefjord. Career Early years Thodesen played youth football in Teie IF and was drafted into the senior squad in the mid-1980s. In 1986 he moved to neighbours Nøtterøy IF. He also enrolled in the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in Oslo. For some time he commuted from Oslo to Nøtterøy to play for his team, but transferred to IF Ready after the 1988 season. In the summer of 1990 he returned to Teie, upon graduation from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences.
