SBS Entertainment Awards
The SBS Entertainment Awards () is an awards ceremony held yearly, sponsored by Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS). The awards ceremony is approximately 140 minutes long and is shown in two parts on SBS. This event is held at the end of each year, and awards are given to the best entertainers for variety programs aired on its network. Variety show, also known as variety arts or variety entertainment, is entertainment made up of a variety of acts including musical performances, sketch comedy, magic, acrobatics, juggling, and ventriloquism. It is normally introduced by a compère (master of ceremonies) or host. The variety format made its way from the Victorian era stage in Britain and America to radio and then television. Variety shows were a staple of English language television from the late 1940s into the 1980s. Park Soo-hong (, born October 27, 1970), is a South Korean comedian and presenter. Career In 1991, Park won bronze in the National College Comedy Contest, making his official debut in the South Korean entertainment industry. In the early 1990s, Park was a part of a group of comedians who called themselves ''Team Potato'' (), composed of Kim Gook-jin, Kim Soo-yong and Kim Yong-man, who all debuted the same year on Korean channel KBS.
