Russian Circuit Racing Series
The Russian Circuit Racing Series (RCRS) is a national Russian racing series created in 2004. It started with four classes: touring, super-production, touring-light, and national class; and national-junior was added in 2015. Sergei Krylov (racing driver), Sergey Krylov was the championship's promoter beginning in 2004, until Oleg Petrikov became promoter of the series in 2014. Circuits Classes *Touring: The international category where cars with two-litre engines and some physical alterations compete. Typical representatives include: BMW 3 Series, BMW 320, Audi A4, Subaru BRZ, Honda Civic Type R, Honda Civic and Honda Accord, Accord, Daewoo Lacetti, Chevrolet Lacetti and Chevrolet Cruze, Cruze, SEAT León. *TCR Russian Series: In 2015 it was announced that cars under the new TCR regulations (as used in the TCR International Series) will be eligible to compete alongside the Touring class, but also have their standalone classification. Touring Car Racing
Touring car racing is a motorsport road racing competition that uses race-prepared touring cars. It has both similarities to and significant differences from stock car racing, which is popular in the United States. While the cars do not move as fast as those in Formula racing, formula or sports car racing, sports car races, their similarity both to one another and to fans' own vehicles makes for well-supported racing. The lesser use of aerodynamics means following cars have a much easier time passing than in open-wheel racing, and the more substantial bodies of the cars makes the subtle bumping and nudging for overtaking much more acceptable as part of racing. As well as short ''sprint'' races, many touring car series include one or more Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance races, which last anything from 3 to 24 hours and are a test of reliability and pit crews as much as car, driver speed, and consistency.
