Renormalization Group
In theoretical physics, the renormalization group (RG) is a formal apparatus that allows systematic investigation of the changes of a physical system as viewed at different scales. In particle physics, it reflects the changes in the underlying physical laws (codified in a quantum field theory) as the energy (or mass) scale at which physical processes occur varies. A change in scale is called a scale transformation. The renormalization group is intimately related to ''scale invariance'' and ''conformal invariance'', symmetries in which a system appears the same at all scales ( self-similarity), where under the fixed point of the renormalization group flow the field theory is conformally invariant. As the scale varies, it is as if one is decreasing (as RG is a semi-group and doesn't have a well-defined inverse operation) the magnifying power of a notional microscope viewing the system. In so-called renormalizable theories, the system at one scale will generally consist of self- ...

Relevant Magazine
''Relevant'' is an American bi-monthly Christian lifestyle magazine published by Relevant Media Group since 2003. It is now fully-digital, but the print magazine once claimed an average circulation of 70,000. History In June 2001, Cameron Strang, son of '' Charisma Magazine'' publisher, and Strang Communications CEO Stephen Strang, founded the media company Relevant Media Group. The company began publishing ''Relevant'' in March 2003. One critic has called the publication "the mass media equivalent of outreach in the skate park." As of 2006, it was distributed nationally at Barnes & Noble and other retailers, including the Family Christian bookstore chain. In its early years, contributors to the print magazine included John Fischer, Dan Haseltine ( Jars of Clay), Don Chaffer ( Waterdeep), and Dan Buck. ''Relevant'' ran articles about faith, life in your 20s and 30s, social justice, and interviews with musicians and authors such as Donald Miller, Bob Goff, The Avett Broth ...

Relevance
Relevance is the connection between topics that makes one useful for dealing with the other. Relevance is studied in many different fields, including cognitive science, logic, and library and information science. Epistemology studies it in general, and different theories of knowledge have different implications for what is considered relevant. Definition "Something (''A'') is relevant to a task (''T'') if it increases the likelihood of accomplishing the goal (''G''), which is implied by ''T''." A thing might be relevant, a document or a piece of information may be relevant. Relevance does not depend on whether we speak of "things" or "information". Epistemology If you believe that schizophrenia is caused by bad communication between mother and child, then family interaction studies become relevant. If, on the other hand, you subscribe to a genetic theory of relevance then the study of genes becomes relevant. If you subscribe to the epistemology of empiricism, then only inte ...
