Rasht County
Rasht County () is in Gilan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Rasht. History In 2009, the village of Luleman was elevated to the status of a city. After the 2016 National Census, the village of Pir Bazar rose to city status. In 2019, Khomam District was separated from the county in the establishment of Khomam County. Demographics Population At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 847,680 in 244,613 households. The following census in 2011 counted 918,445 people in 293,448 households. The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 956,971 in 321,703 households. Khoshk-e Bijar
Khoshk-e Bijar () is a city in, and the capital of, Khoshk-e Bijar District of Rasht County, Gilan province, Iran. The city is located in plain and has temperate and humid climate. It is located west of Lasht-e Nesha and northeast of Rasht. There are 4 rivers in the area: Gisheh damardeh, Nureh, Khoshkebijari and Bazari. Khomam
Khomam () is a city in the Central District of Khomam County, Gilan province, Iran, serving as the capital of both the county and the district. The city of Khomam is on the road connecting the two major and tourist cities of Gilan province, Rasht and Anzali. According to the police, Rasht to Khomam was the second-busiest road in the province in 2015. Khomam is the nearest city to the center of Gilan province, Rasht, about 7 km, and to Anzali it is 15 km. Khomam is connected to the Caspian Sea in the north through the coast of Jafrud Bala (1.5 km long) and is considered a border town. In the west it is connected to the east coast of Anzali Lagoon through Dahaneh Sar-e Shijan village and Jirsar-e Baqer Khaleh village. 7 villages in the suburbs of Khomam are part of the Anzali Free Zone.
