Vaca Falls Railway
The Vaca Falls Railway was a long gauge logging railway between the Vaca Falls and the Chiquibui Forest on the Mountain Pine Ridge in Belize. History The Vaca Falls Railway was operated as a funicular, using Montania benzene locomotives manufactured in Nordhausen. It was probably built in the mid-1920s by the Mengel Company of Kentucky, and used for transporting mahogany logs. The track belonged to the Belize Estate and Produce Company Ltd. and was in use until 1952. The Hummingbird Highway is one of the four major highways in Belize. It connects the George Price Highway outside of Belmopan, Cayo District to the Southern Highway outside of Dangriga, Stann Creek District. Belmopan
Belmopan () is the capital city of Belize. Its population in 2010 was 16,451. Belmopan is the smallest capital city in the continental Americas (by population) and the third-largest settlement in Belize, behind Belize City and San Ignacio. Founded as a planned community in 1970, it is one of the newest national capital cities in the world.
