WILM (AM)
WILM (1450 kHz) is a news/talk AM radio station broadcasting in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. The station is owned by iHeartMedia. WILM is known as the station where radio and television talk show Joe Pyne developed the confrontational style now standard in radio and TV talk shows. Another well-known WILM personality was Tom Mees (ESPN) who worked at the station in the 1970s. History WILM signed on the air in 1928, as WTBQ, then in 1929, the call-letters changed to WILM. During the 1930s and 1945 WLIM was an NBC Blue Network affiliate carrying shows, and News, during a Golden Age of Radio. WRDX (92.9 FM) is a radio station licensed to serve Smyrna, Delaware. It is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc., and airs an adult contemporary format. The station was assigned its call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on September 7, 2007, when it swapped with sister station WDSD. WOCM (98.1 FM, "Ocean 98") is an AAA/Rock radio station in the Ocean City, Maryland, area. The radio station's studios are located at Seacrets, a massive restaurant and nightclub campus located along Assawoman Bay in Ocean City. The station features an eclectic mix of rock, reggae, and other modern hits, in a format not unlike a college radio station. WMPH (91.7 FM broadcasting, FM, "Super 91.7") is Delaware's first high school radio station, located in Wilmington, Delaware, Wilmington. The Brandywine School District Board of Education owns the license granted by the Federal Communications Commission, FCC. The call letters WMPH stand for Mount Pleasant High School (Wilmington, Delaware), Mount Pleasant High and offered several program formats including Top 40, progressive rock, dance and now classic and alternative music. WMPH signed off the air on June 11, 2010 but has since been totally renovated and came back on-air at full power on June 3, 2011 in a classic/alternative rock, jazz and community based format. WLBW is a radio station in the Fenwick Island / Ocean City area of Delaware and Maryland and broadcasting at 92.1 MHz. The station plays a contemporary Christian music format as part of the K-Love network. The station is owned by the Educational Media Foundation.
