Racing Club Beirut
Racing Club (), known as Racing Beirut or simply Racing, is a football club based in Achrafieh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . They play their home matches at the Fouad Chehab Stadium and are primarily supported by the Greek Orthodox Christian community. Racing Beirut won the Lebanese Premier League three times, the Lebanese Challenge Cup twice, and the Lebanese Second Division four times. They also finished runners-up in the Lebanese FA Cup twice. History Early history The club was founded in 1934 by several locals from the Achrafieh and Gemmayzeh districts of Beirut, Lebanon. The club's name is inspired from French football club Racing Paris, who the club's presidents supported. Racing played five years in the Lebanese Second Division, and got its first promotion to the Lebanese Premier League in 1940. In 1953, Albert Kheir was elected as the club's president. Fouad Chehab Stadium (), also known as Jounieh Municipal Stadium (), is a multi-use stadium in Jounieh, Lebanon. It is currently used mostly for football matches, and has a capacity of 5,000. 2023–24 Lebanese Premier League
The 2023–24 Lebanese Premier League was the 62nd season of the Lebanese Premier League, the top Lebanese league for football clubs since its establishment in 1934. The league started on 4 August 2023, and ended on 30 June 2024. It was the fourth season to feature a "split" format, following its introduction in the 2020–21 season, in which the season is divided into two phases. Nejmeh won their ninth title after defeating Ansar in the last matchday. Tripoli and Ahly Nabatieh were relegated to the Lebanese Second Division. Shadi Skaf
Shadi Mustafa Skaf (; born 9 February 1994) is a Lebanese professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Racing Beirut. Club career Lebanon Coming through the youth system, Skaf began his career at Islah Bourj Shmali in the 2010–11 Lebanese Premier League. In 2011 he was awarded Lebanese Young Player of the Year. On 8 July 2013, Skaf joined Nejmeh, before moving to Nabi Chit on 13 October 2015. On 17 August 2016, Skaf was signed by Salam Zgharta. Joseph Aoun (footballer)
Joseph Khalil Aoun (; ; born 10 January 1964) is a Lebanese politician and General (Lebanon and Syria), army general who has served as the 14th president of Lebanon since 9 January 2025. He has previously served as the commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, and is the fifth commander elected president. Early life and education Aoun was born on 10 January 1964, in the Beirut suburb of Sin el-Fil in the Matn District, Metn District, the child of Hoda Ibrahim Makhlouta and Khalil Aoun.
