Pune FC
Pune Football Club was an Indian professional football club based in Pune, Maharashtra. The club has competed in the I-League, then top flight of Indian football league system. The club was one of the most professional clubs in Indian football history, known mainly for their focus on fanfare, professional playing set-up, and focus on youth development. The club was owned by the Ashok Piramal Group. Founded in 2007, the club managed to gain promotion to the I-League in 2009. In their first season in the I-League, the club managed to finish in a very surprising third place before having their best ever season during the 2012–13 season in which they finished in second place. Pune used to have a rivalry with fellow Maharashtra club Mumbai FC, with whom it contested the Maha derby. The club pulled out of I-League earlier 2015–16 season. The main club shut down its operations while Pune F.C. Academy was acquired by ISL club, FC Pune City. It was dissolved in 2016. History ... Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex
The Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex is a sports complex located in Pune, India. The complex is situated about 15 km from Pune downtown and 5 km from Hinjawadi. This complex was the venue for the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games, Khelo India Youth Games in 2019 and AFC Women's Asian Cup. History This complex was built in 1994 for the National Games 1994, which were hosted by Pune. The 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games were hosted here. In 2008 the World Junior Table Tennis Circuit was successfully held here. The 2009 FIVB Men's Junior World Championship was held here. The city also hosted FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women 2009. The second edition of the Khelo India Youth Games was kicked off in Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, by Sports Minister, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, and then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis. National Football League (India)
The National Football League (NFL) was a league competition featuring football clubs from India. Founded in 1996 through the All India Football Federation (AIFF), the NFL was the first football league in India to be organized on a national scale. The AIFF then added a second division in 1997 and a third division was soon added by the governing body in 2006. The NFL was eventually replaced by the I-League for the 2007–08 season in order to professionalize the sport in India. As well as league competition, clubs in the NFL would also participate in the two main domestic cup competitions, the Federation Cup and Durand Cup.
