Pune FC
Pune Football Club was an Indian professional football club based in Pune, Maharashtra. The club competed in I-League, then top flight of Indian football league system. The club was one of the most professional clubs in Indian football history, known mainly for their focus on fanfare, professional playing set-up, and focus on youth development. Pune was owned by Ashok Piramal Group. Founded in 2007, the club managed to gain promotion to the I-League in 2009. In their first season in the I-League, the club managed to finish in a very surprising third place before having their best ever season during the 2012–13 season in which they finished in second place. Pune formerly participated in Chennai Football League. The club used to have a rivalry with fellow Maharashtra club Mumbai FC, with whom it contested the "Maha derby". The Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, also known as Balewadi Stadium, is a sports complex located in Pune, India. The complex is situated about 15 km from downtown Pune and 5 km from Hinjawadi. This complex was a venue for the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games, Khelo India Youth Games in 2019 and 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup, AFC Women's Asian Cup. 2008 I-League 2nd Division
The draw of the preliminary groups of the inaugural 2008 I-League 2nd Division was carried out at Football House, Dwarka on 25 February 2008. The 12 participating teams have been drawn into two groups of six teams each to be played in Balewadi Sports Complex Pune and Rajarshi Shahu Stadium Kolhapur. The final round was played in Guwahati, Assam. The top four teams in the I-League 2nd Division qualified for the I-League (2008–09), while the rest will be remain to I League Division 2 in the next season. Mumbai were the champions of the inaugural I-League 2nd Division. The AIFF had selected Pune and Kolhapur as preliminary round venues to take the game to different cities. John Stewart Hall is an association football coach. He has been technical director of the Philippine Football Federation since 1 December 2021 . Career Hall was the director of the Birmingham City F.C. Academy. His duties included coaching the Barclays premier league reserve team and the club's U18 academy team and went on to manage the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national football team. With the island boys, he achieved their first win at any level for 13 months, with a 2–1 win away to Guadeloupe. He coached the world cup qualifying campaign (Canada home & away) with warm-up games versus Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica and Cuba. The I-League 2 is an Indian men's professional association football, football league. It is the 3rd tier of the Indian football league system, behind the Indian Super League and the I-League. It operates as a system of promotion and relegation with the I-League and the I-League 3. History I-League 2nd Division was introduced during the 2008 season, with first game played on 25 March between Mohammedan SC (Kolkata), Mohammedan Sporting and Amity United.
