Terrestrial television, or over-the-air television (OTA) is a type of television broadcasting in which the content is signal transmission, transmitted via radio waves from the terrestrial (Earth-based) transmitter of a TV station to a TV receiver having an television antenna, antenna. Public broadcasting (or public service broadcasting) is radio, television, and other electronic media outlets whose primary mission is public service with a commitment to avoiding political and commercial influence. Public broadcasters receive funding from diverse sources including license fees, individual contributions and donations, public financing, and corporate underwriting. A public service broadcaster should operate as a non-partisan, non-profit entity, guided by a clear public interest mandate. Arthur (TV Series)
''Arthur'' is an animated television series developed by Marc Brown (author), Marc Brown and Kathy Waugh and produced by WGBH-TV, WGBH Boston for PBS. Based on Brown's ''Arthur'' book series, it is set in the fictional American city of Elwood City and revolves around the lives of Arthur Read, an anthropomorphic aardvark, his friends and family, and their daily interactions with each other. ''Barney & Friends'' is an American children's television series created by Sheryl Leach targeted at children ages two to five. The flagship production of the ''Barney'' franchise, it originally aired on PBS under the PBS Kids brand from April 6, 1992 to November 2, 2010, although new videos were still released on various dates after the last episode aired.
