Dwayne Provo
Dwayne Provo (born October 7, 1970) is a Canadian athlete, school administrator, and politician. Early life Provo was born in North Preston, Nova Scotia (one of Canada's largest Black communities) and attended university at Saint Mary's University where he played Canadian football and was drafted in 1995 by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Professional football career He went on to play professional football in the Canadian Football League for 8 years (as well as a brief stint in the National Football League). Since retiring from football he has taken further university studies and worked as a school administrator. Political career In the 2006 Nova Scotia election, he ran as the Progressive Conservative candidate for the riding of Preston, but finished second to Liberal Keith Colwell. Provo was a Dutch counterculture movement in the mid-1960s that focused on provoking violent responses from authorities using non-violent bait. It was preceded by the nozem movement and followed by the hippie movement. Provo was founded, on 25 May 1965, by Robert Jasper Grootveld, an anti-smoking activist, and the anarchists Roel van Duijn and Rob Stolk. Provo Central station is an intermodal transit station in Provo, Utah, United States. It is served by the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) FrontRunner commuter rail line as well as local, intra-county, and interstate buses. Provo station is a train station in Provo, Utah. It is served by Amtrak's ''California Zephyr'', which runs once daily between Chicago and Emeryville, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Description The station is located on the north side of the tracks and south of 600 South at 300 West. It is easily accessible from 200 West and has six paved parking spaces. There are no services provided at the station (i.e., ticketing, restrooms, lounge, etc.). The station is within walking distance of downtown Provo. The station is located within a Quiet Zone, so all trains (including Utah Transit Authority's ''FrontRunner'' and Union Pacific's) do not routinely sound their horns when approaching public crossings within this corridor although they do sound their bells. Frederick Lewis Provo (April 17, 1922 – June 6, 1999) was an American professional football halfback who played one season in the National Football League (NFL) for the Green Bay Packers. He played college football for the Washington Huskies and was selected by the Packers in the 14th round of the 1948 NFL draft. Early life Provo was born on April 17, 1922, in Seattle, Washington. He attended Vancouver High School; he is one of only two of their alumni to play in the NFL. At Vancouver, he was a member of their football, basketball and track and field teams.
