Professional Fighters League
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is an American mixed martial arts league founded by venture capitalist Donn Davis in 2017 and launched in 2018, following the acquisition and restructuring of the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion in 2017 by MMAX Investment Partners. It is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season and championship, rather than on a year-round basis. The PFL currently puts on fights across six weight-divisions: Featherweight (MMA), featherweight, women's lightweight, Lightweight (MMA), lightweight, Welterweight (MMA), welterweight, Light heavyweight (MMA), light heavyweight and Heavyweight (MMA), heavyweight. In addition to this, there is also a ‘Super Fight’ division, which is not defined by weight, but instead is based on the status and name value of individuals who compete in it. Peter Murray (American Businessman)
Peter Murray is an American sports business executive, best known for being the chief executive officer of the Professional Fighters League. Career After college, Murray decided to pursue a career in marketing, securing roles at advertising firms Young & Rubicam and Bates USA. In 1995, Murray joined the National Football League, eventually transitioning to the roles of SVP of business & content development and SVP of global brand partnerships. In 2009, he left the NFL to join talent agency William Morris Endeavor as EVP of marketing & new business. In 2012, Murray left to co-found sports marketing firm Insignia Sports, where he served as CEO. In 2014, Murray left the agency, which was sold to RSE Ventures, a private investment fund run by Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and former New York Jets executive Matt Higgins. Michael Schiavello
Michael Schiavello (born 10 April 1975) is an Australian sports commentator and journalist. He has commentated for AXS TV, K-1, Dream, Maximum Fighting Championship, King of the Cage, ONE Championship and ''The Contender Asia''. He has also written for more than 50 publications worldwide, was the long-serving editor of ''Blitz Magazine'', was the editor of ''International Kickboxer'' magazine until 2009, was a feature writer for ''Inside Sport'' magazine, and was the youngest ever inductee to the Best Australian Sports Writing Awards. Commentating Schiavello first got his start in commentating at age 16 at a track and field event in Melbourne.
