ProSieben Original Programming
ProSieben (, ''sieben'' is German for "seven"; often stylized as Pro7) is a German free-to-air television network owned by ProSiebenSat.1 Media. It was launched on 1 January 1989. It is Germany's second-largest privately owned television company. Although ProSieben produces some of its programming itself, it also airs many American imports. On 3 May 2012, the network launched a pay-TV channel called ProSieben Fun. A third channel called ProSieben Maxx started broadcasting on 3 September 2013. The three different feeds of the channel are: ProSieben (for Germany), ProSieben Austria (for Austria), and ProSieben Schweiz (for Switzerland and Liechtenstein). The main difference is that they have different advertisements and news for each target country. The channel uses an English slogan: "We love to entertain you." Sixx
sixx is a German free-to-air television channel which targets a female audience. It was launched on 7 May 2010 at 8:15pm. History In November 2009, ProSiebenSat.1 Media announced the new women's channel Fem-TV, whose name changed to Sixx at the beginning of February 2010. The name change was intended to establish Sixx as the sixth channel on the remote control, just like other channels do: Das Erste, ZDF, Das Vierte or ProSieben. In an interview in August 2010 with the industry magazine Kontakter, the then station manager Hofem-Best said that 80 percent of the viewers were women and that the most popular series included ''Desperate Housewives'', ''Grey's Anatomy'' and ''Damages''. Astra 1A
Astra 1A was the first satellite launched and operated by SES (Société Européenne des Satellites), launched in December 1988. During its early days, it was often referred to as the Astra Satellite, as SES only operated one satellite originally. The satellite provided 16 transponders(+6 as rescue) and television coverage to Western Europe from 1989 to 2004. Astra 1A was retired and became derelict in December 2004. Astra 1L, is one of the Astra geostationary satellites owned and operated by SES. It was purchased in June 2003, launched in May 2007 and stationed at SES's primary European TV orbital position at 19.2° East. Astra (satellite)
Astra is the brand name for a number of geostationary communication satellites, both individually and as a group, which are owned and operated by SES, a global satellite operator based in Betzdorf, in eastern Luxembourg. The name is also used to describe the pan-European broadcasting system provided by these satellites, the channels carried on them, and even the reception equipment. At the time of the launch of the first Astra satellite, Astra 1A in 1988, the satellite's operator was known as Société Européenne des Satellites ("European Satellite Company").
