Prima Televize
TV Prima, also known simply as Prima (previously Prima family, Prima televize, Premiéra, originally FTV Premiéra), is a Czech Republic, Czech television channel based in Prague. Its current owner is FTV Prima, spol. s. r. o., which is majority-owned by Czech investment firm GES, in turn owned by Czech oligarch Ivan Zach. The group's current general manager is Marek Singer. It is the first private TV channel in the Czech Republic and the former Czechoslovakia. History FTV Prima's history began when FTV Premiéra obtained the first ever privately owned TV license in Czechoslovakia on November 26, 1992, and its official broadcast began on June 20, 1993 in the Czech Republic. Czech Language
Czech ( ; ), historically known as Bohemian ( ; ), is a West Slavic language of the Czech–Slovak group, written in Latin script. A multiplex or mux, also known as a bouquet, is a grouping of program services as interleaved data packets for broadcast over a network or modulated multiplexed medium, particularly terrestrial broadcasting. The program services are broadcast as part of one transmission and split out at the receiving end. The conversion from analog to digital television made it possible to transmit more than one video service, in addition to audio and data, within a fixed space previously used to transmit one analog TV service (varying between six and eight megahertz depending on the system used and bandplan). ''Big Brother'' is a reality competition television franchise created by John de Mol Jr., first broadcast in the Netherlands in 1999 and subsequently syndicated internationally. The show features contestants called "housemates" or "HouseGuests" who live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world. TV JOJ is a Slovak private TV channel owned by J&T Enterprises and launched in March 2002. The channel screens serial dramas and TV shows. The name JOJ is derived from a Slovak interjection, comparable to ''oh là là''. History It was launched on 2 March 2002 as a successor of the network TV Global, which had been broadcasting since March 2000. The station's first slogan was "Nuda na Slovensku skončila," which translates to "Boredom in Slovakia has finished." ''Való Világ'' (, lit. Real World) is Hungary's reality show aired by RTL. ValóVilág became the most popular Hungarian reality television program ever. The show was aired in the same time slot as the localized version of '' Big Brother''. While TV2 recorded the highest number of viewers in 2002, ''Való Világ 1'' had an average of 1.5 million. Sky Deutschland GmbH, branded as Sky, is a German media company that operates a direct broadcast satellite Pay TV platform in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (through Sky Switzerland). TV Nova is a commercial television station in the Czech Republic. It began broadcasting in February 1994 as the first privately held nationwide Czech TV station. Its first CEO was Vladimír Železný.
