Lincolnshire is a ceremonial county in England, United Kingdom. The ceremonial county is a combination of the non-metropolitan county of Lincolnshire and two unitary authority areas in the north. The non-metropolitan county is governed by the Lincolnshire County Council, which is Conservative controlled, and further divided into seven district councils. Two further districts - North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire - are unitary authorities because they were previously districts of the controversial Humberside county from 1974. In 1996, Humberside was abolished along with its county council. However some services in those districts are still shared with the East Riding of Yorkshire ceremonial county, rather than the rest Lincolnshire. The Borough of Boston is a Non-metropolitan district, local government district with Borough status in the United Kingdom, borough status in Lincolnshire, England. Its council is based in the town of Boston, Lincolnshire, Boston. The borough also includes numerous villages in the surrounding rural area including Wyberton, Sutterton, Algakirk and Hubberts Bridge. Great Grimsby was a List of United Kingdom Parliament constituencies, constituency in North East Lincolnshire represented in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom since December 2019 by Lia Nici of the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party. Gareth Mark Davies (born 31 March 1984) is a British politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Grantham and Bourne, previously Grantham and Stamford, since 2019. A member of the Conservative Party, he was the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury from April 2023 to July 2024. He has been the Shadow Financial Secretary to the Treasury since November 2024. Sir Edward Julian Egerton Leigh (born 20 July 1950) is a British Conservative Party politician who has been serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Gainsborough, previously Gainsborough and Horncastle, since 1983. Parliament's longest-serving MP since 2024, Leigh is styled Father of the House and, in July 2024, acted as a Temporary Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons. Martin John Vickers (born 13 September 1950) is a British Conservative Party politician. He was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Brigg and Immingham since the 2024 general election. He previously represented the Cleethorpes constituency from 2010 until its abolition in 2024. Early life Born in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, Vickers was educated at Havelock School and Grimsby College. He gained a politics degree at the University of Lincoln after six years as a part-time student in 2004. Andrew Theakstone Percy (born 18 September 1977) is a British Conservative Party politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Brigg and Goole from 2010 to 2024.
