Iraq
Iraq, officially the Republic of Iraq, is a country in West Asia. Masoud Barzani
Masoud Barzani (; born 16 August 1946) is a Kurdish politician who has been leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) since 1979, and was President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq from 2005 to 2017. Early life and career Barzani was born in Mahabad, Iran, and succeeded his father Mustafa Barzani as leader of the KDP in 1979. Working closely with his brother Idris Barzani until Idris's death, Barzani and various other Kurdish groups fought with Iran against the Iraqi military during the Iran–Iraq War. Emtidad Movement
The Emtidad Movement or Emtidad (), also sometimes translated as the Extension Movement, is an Iraqi political party formed to contest the 2021 parliamentary election. Foundation The party was formed in early December 2020 by Alaa Al Rikabi, a doctor and civil activist with other civil activists inside a tent in Al-Haboubi Square, the stronghold of the 2019–2021 Iraqi protests in the center of Dhi Qar governorate. The idea was establishing a youth civil movement as an alternative to the current political parties that have failed to run the country and have been implicated in crimes of financial corruption, fueling sectarianism and racism, and creating various crises in the country since 2003. Self-determination
Self-determination refers to a people's right to form its own political entity, and internal self-determination is the right to representative government with full suffrage. Self-determination is a cardinal principle in modern international law, binding, as such, on the United Nations as an authoritative interpretation of the Charter of the United Nations, Charter's norms. The principle does not state how the decision is to be made, nor what the outcome should be (whether independence, federation, protectorate, protection, some form of autonomy or full Cultural assimilation, assimilation), and the right of self-determination does not necessarily include a right to an independent state for every ethnic group within a former colonial territory. Kurdistani Coalition
The Kurdistani Coalition or Kurdistan Alliance Party is an electoral coalition founded by the major Kurdish parties of Kurdistan Region to run in the next Iraqi governorate elections. The coalition will run in the disputed areas between Iraq and Kurdistan Region and Baghdad Governorate to consolidate Kurdish votes. A total of 96 candidates will run as part of the coalition. Islamism is a range of religious and political ideological movements that believe that Islam should influence political systems.
