Pledis Entertainment () is a South Korean entertainment company founded by Han Sung-Soo in 2007. The label is home to Bumzu, Hwang Min-hyun, and groups Seventeen and TWS. Its name originates from the Pleiades, a star cluster in the constellation Taurus. On May 25, 2020, Hybe Corporation became its majority shareholder, but Pledis remains an independent label. History 2007–2012: Founding and early artists Pledis Entertainment was founded in 2007. Son Dam-bi was the first artist to debut under Pledis, and was dubbed the 'female Rain' by media outlets. In its beginning stages, the agency did not have management premises, only a practice room. In January 2009, Pledis debuted its first girl group, After School. NU'EST
NU'EST (; short for New Establish Style Tempo) was a South Korean boy band formed and managed by Pledis Entertainment. The group consisted of five members: Kim Jong-hyeon, JR, Aron (singer), Aron, Baekho (singer), Baekho, Hwang Min-hyun, Minhyun, and Ren (singer), Ren. They debuted on March 15, 2012, with the single titled "Face". The group disbanded on March 15, 2022, after Aron, JR, and Ren left Pledis Entertainment upon the completion of their 10-year contract. Yoo Ara (; born September 26, 1992) is a South Korean singer and actress, known for her work as a former member of the South Korean girl group Hello Venus. ''Happy Pledis 2nd Album'' is a charity single by the South Korean music label Pledis Entertainment's artists Son Dam-bi, Kahi, After School, NU'EST's JR and Baekho, Hello Venus's Yoo Ara and Lime and Pre-School Girl Park Jung-hyun. The album was released under the name ''Happy Pledis 2nd Album'' and is a charity release. As NU'EST and Hello Venus hadn't officially debuted then, the album doesn't include all the members of the two groups, and NU'EST went by the name "Pledis Boys". Oh Hye-rin (born May 7, 1989), better known by her stage name Raina, is a South Korean singer. She is best known as a former member of the South Korean girl group After School and member of the sub-unit Orange Caramel. Raina debuted with the group in November 2009 following the release of the group's third single, " Because of You". She debuted as a solo singer in September 2014 with the single "You End, And Me". Park Soo-young (; born July 31, 1992), is a South Korean singer and actress. She debuted under the stage name Lizzy () as a member of the South Korean girl group After School (band), After School in March 2010 and later formed part of the group's sub-units, Orange Caramel and After School Blue. She made her solo debut in January 2015 with the digital single "Not an Easy Girl". Orange Caramel () was the first subgroup of South Korean girl group After School. The subgroup was formed in 2010 with the third generation After School members Nana, Raina, and Lizzy.
