Osteogenesis Imperfecta
Osteogenesis imperfecta (; OI), colloquially known as brittle bone disease, is a group of genetic disorders that all result in bones that bone fracture, break easily. The range of symptoms—on the skeleton as well as on the body's other Organ (biology), organs—may be mild to severe. Symptoms found in various types of OI include sclera, whites of the eye (sclerae) that are blue instead, short stature, joint hypermobility, loose joints, hearing loss, breathing problems and problems with the teeth (dentinogenesis imperfecta). Nabil Shaban
Nabil Shaban (born 12 February 1953) is a Jordanian-British actor and writer. He co-founded Graeae—a theatre group which promotes disabled performers. He's best known as the recurring villain Sil in ''Doctor Who''. Early years and career Shaban was born in Amman, Jordan, with brittle bone disease osteogenesis imperfecta. He was sent to England for medical care, where he grew up in a series of hospitals and residential homes. He studied at the University of Surrey in the late 1970s and contributed to the Students' Union newspaper "Bare Facts". In 1997, Shaban was awarded an honorary doctorate by the university for services in the promotion of Disability Arts. Quentin Kenihan
Quentin Kenihan (27 February 1975 – 6 October 2018) was an Australian disability advocate, writer and actor. He was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, a rare bone disease. Kenihan was born in Box Hill, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, in 1975 and first came to the attention of the public aged seven when he was the feature of a documentary by Australian journalist Mike Willesee. He later was the host of a Ten Network television show ''Quentin Crashes''. In 2016, Kenihan participated in a lengthy television interview with Ray Martin. He appeared in the 2015 film '' Mad Max: Fury Road'' in the role of Corpus Colossus. Kenihan died in Adelaide on 6 October 2018. His suspected cause of death was an asthma attack.
