Peccatum Members
Peccatum was an avant-garde metal band from Norway. Their influences range from black metal, progressive metal, industrial music, symphonic metal and gothic metal to European classical music and contemporary classical music, contemporary music. History Peccatum was formed by singer Ihriel (Heidi Solberg Tveitan), her husband Ihsahn (of the well-known black metal band Emperor (Norwegian band), Emperor), and her brother Lord PZ. The group released three albums and two EPs. ''Lost in Reverie'', released in 2004 after Lord PZ's departure, moved towards a more classical, avant-garde and musically opaque direction. ''Lost in Reverie'' and the 2005 Extended play, EP The Moribund People were both produced under the label Mnemosyne Productions, owned and operated by Ihriel and Ihsahn themselves. Notodden
is a municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Aust-Telemark. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Notodden. Ihriel
Heidi Solberg Tveitan (born 31 May 1972) is a Norwegian musician and singer currently known for her solo project Starofash (also known as Star of Ash). Tveitan was formerly half of the experimental band Peccatum, where she performed vocals, keyboards and synths and wrote the majority of lyrics, under the name Ihriel. She is the sister of Einar Solberg, the singer of Leprous, and the wife of Ihsahn of the black metal band Emperor, with whom she runs the production company Mnemosyne Productions as a music producer and manager. Biography Tveitan was first introduced to music after taking singing and music lessons for many years. In 1998, she formed Peccatum with her husband Ihsahn and brother Lord Pz. The Moribund People
''The Moribund People'' is a 2005 EP by the avant-garde metal project Peccatum and their last release before they split up in 2006. On this EP, Peccatum's style hovers between black metal, modern classical and electronica. It features the title track, another song called "A Penny's Worth Of Heart" and a cover of the song "For All Those Who Died", from the Bathory album Blood Fire Death. Strangling From Within
''Strangling From Within'' was released on 23 November 1999 by the Avant-garde metal project Peccatum. The themes on this album can mostly be described as symphonic and neo-classical as well as the more prominent black metal influences. Female Vocalist Ihriel contributes largely to the operatics and symphonic feel of the album. This is further achieved through use of various classical instruments that feature briefly or that may have a more pronounced role.
