The Ohio Bobcats are the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I, Division I Intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Ohio University, located in Athens, Ohio, United States. Ohio University is a charter member (1946) of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), is currently in the East Division of that conference, and sponsors teams in six men's and ten women's NCAA sanctioned sports. Ohio University

1985 MAC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 1985 MAC men's basketball tournament was held March 5–7 at Centennial Hall in Toledo, Ohio. Top-seeded Ohio defeated in the championship game by the score of 74–64 to win their second MAC men's basketball tournament and a bid to the NCAA tournament. There they lost to Kansas in the first round. Ron Harper of runner-up Miami was named the tournament MVP. Format Seven of the ten MAC teams participated. The 1983 MAC men's basketball tournament was held March 10–12 at various MAC basketball areans. Second seeded Ohio defeated top-seeded in the championship game by the score of 74–64 to win their first MAC men's basketball tournament and a bid to the NCAA tournament. There they defeated Illinois State before losing to Kentucky in the second round. John Devereaux of Ohio was named the tournament MVP. Format Seven of the ten MAC teams participated. Games were played on the home court of the better seeded team. The final was played at Anderson Arena in Bowling Green, Ohio. Women's College World Series
The Women's College World Series (WCWS) is the final portion of the NCAA Division I softball tournament for college softball in the United States and is held annually in Oklahoma City, OK. The event is held at Devon Park (stadium), Devon Park located within the USA Softball Hall of Fame complex. The eight teams of the WCWS play a double-elimination tournament until just two teams remain. These two teams compete in a best-of-three series to determine the NCAA Division I, Division I WCWS National Champion. Previous WCWS losses do not factor into the best-of-three championship series, and the first team to win two of three games is declared the National Champion. 1975 Women's College World Series
The 1975 Women's College World Series (WCWS) was contested among 18 college softball teams on May 15–18 at Dill Field in Omaha, Nebraska. This was the seventh WCWS. After losing the opener of the final, the University of Nebraska–Omaha Maverettes defeated Northern Iowa, 6–4, in the deciding game to win the 1975 championship. The Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) was a college athletics organization in the United States, founded in 1971 to govern women's college competitions in the country and to administer national championships (see AIAW Champions). It evolved out of the "Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics for Women" (CIAW), founded in 1967. The association was one of the biggest advancements for women's athletics on the collegiate level. Mike Schmidt
Michael Jack Schmidt (born September 27, 1949) is an American former professional baseball third baseman who spent his entire 18-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1972 to 1989. Schmidt was a 12-time All-Star and a three-time winner of the National League (NL) Most Valuable Player award (MVP), and he was known for his combination of power hitting and strong defense. As a hitter, he compiled 548 home runs and 1,595 runs batted in (RBIs), and led the NL in home runs eight times and in RBIs four times. As a fielder, Schmidt won the National League Gold Glove Award for third basemen ten times. Schmidt was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995 in his first year of eligibility, and is widely considered to be one of the greatest third basemen in baseball history.
