Odex
Odex Private Limited is a Singapore-based anime distribution company that licenses and distributes anime content for theatrical, home video, and digital platforms. It initially focused on Southeast Asia but now distributes anime films across 42 countries worldwide. Odex was established in 1987 and set up its Anime Distribution department in 2000, selling anime in Singapore. It works with Japanese licensors such as Sunrise Inc., TV Tokyo, Yomiuri TV, D-Rights, TMS, Showgate Inc and Aniplex Inc. Odex also sells programs to television stations in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, such as TV3, NTV7, Astro, MediaCorp TV and StarHub TV. Other than licensing, Odex also does English dubbing, translation and subtitling for other companies. Odex also deals in anime merchandise sales. Odex's Actions Against File-sharing
Between 2007 and 2008, Singapore-based company Odex initiated a series of demands and legal actions against Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Singapore to obtain details of subscribers who they alleged were involved in illegal download activities of content. Odex licenses and releases Japanese anime for local Singapore and regional Southeast Asian consumption, and, as the holder of the licenses in Singapore, was appointed by the copyright holders to submit legal documents and court proceedings on their behalf in Singapore. Actions Japanese copyright owners appointed Odex to engage Anti-Piracy Solution company, BayTSP, to track illegal downloading activities of Japanese animation in Singapore, using similar method employed by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the United States. AVPAS
Anti Video Piracy Association of Singapore (AVPAS) is a copy protection consortium with other anime producers founded by Odex on 30 July 2003. The association lists over 400 titles (as of 25 May 2007) and is supported by at least one governmental agency. AVPAS is not a governmental agency by itself. It aims to monitor and combat the unauthorized distribution of video related rights, in particular anime and Japanese-related Intellectual Property. The website technically is being maintained by NetroAsia. Its main committee members are Dr. Toh See Kiat (AVPAS president), Go Wei Ho Peter (AVPAS vice president and Odex director), Sing Xin Yang (AVPAS secretary and Odex director) and Yong Yet Yuen (AVPAS Secretary). is a Japanese anime television series, the eleventh installment in Sunrise (company), Sunrise studio's long-running ''Gundam'' franchise comprising two seasons. Casshern Sins
is a reboot of the 1973 anime series '' Casshan'', produced by Tatsunoko Productions and animated by Madhouse, it aired from October 2008 to March 2009.
