Northwestern College (NWC and informally Northwestern Iowa) is a Private university, private Christian college in Orange City, Iowa, United States, that is Calvinism, Reformed, Evangelicalism, evangelical and Ecumenism, ecumenical. Established in 1882, it offers more than 135 academic programs and enrolls over 1,700 students in undergraduate, graduate and online programs. Northwestern College (Wisconsin)
Martin Luther College (MLC) is a private Lutheran college in New Ulm, Minnesota. It is operated by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Martin Luther College was established in 1995, when Northwestern College (NWC) of Watertown, Wisconsin, combined with Dr. Martin Luther College (DMLC) of New Ulm on the latter's campus. MLC offers several undergraduate and graduate degree programs, all of which train students for service in the WELS. Men who graduate from the college's pre-seminary program may enroll at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. Men and women who graduate from its education programs may be assigned by the WELS as teachers and staff ministers to synod churches, schools, and missions. In 2019, MLC enrolled 731 undergraduate students and 129 graduate students. Northwestern College (Fergus Falls, Minnesota)
Northwestern College was a secondary school that existed from 1900 to 1932 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. The school was built based on a need for a local academy for Scandinavian immigrant children within the greater area. It offered Academic, Normal, Preparatory, Commerce, Music, and Art departments of study, and was funded by the Northwestern College Corporation of the Minnesota Conference (Red River Valley Conference after it was formed in 1912) of the Augustana Synod. Northwestern was one of four small "colleges" (although more like high schools) affiliated with the Augustana Synod in the late 1800s and early 1900s, along with Hope Academy, Minnesota College, and North Star College. These schools aided Scandinavian immigrants with assimilating into American culture.
