Northland College, Kaikohe
Northland College is a small co-educational secondary school in Kaikohe. History Utilising buildings built for a military hospital during the Second World War, the school was opened in 1947. Originally called the Northland Agricultural and Technical College, the school was established with a farm and forestry block to provide financial support into the future. Over its first twenty years new buildings were gradually added, and by 1968 the school had moved out of the original hospital buildings which remained a hostel. Houses Like many New Zealand schools, Northland College groups students into Houses for pastoral support and internal competitions. The names of the Houses have changed over the years. Northland College was a private college in Ashland, Wisconsin, United States. As of its closure, it enrolled over 200 full-time undergraduates and employed 60 faculty members and 99 staff members. Northland College was accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In February 2025, the college announced that it would close after the 2024-2025 school year. History Northland College was the successor to the North Wisconsin Academy, which initially opened on July 14, 1892. Sponsored by the Congregational Churches, it was a co-educational high school intended to serve the isolated, northern parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. The academy expanded its program to include college coursework in 1906, thus becoming Northland College. Wheeler Hall, built in 1892, was the North Wisconsin Academy's sole building, providing classroom space, board and cafeteria services. Northland Scholars Academy (formerly Northland International University), is a college prep high school, formerly a college, in Dunbar, Wisconsin. History Northland Mission Camp (now Northland Camp and Conference Center)was founded on December 31, 1958, by Paul and Mamie Patz and Reverend Harold and Arlene Sailer. Sailer and his wife both graduated from Northwestern Bible College. Property for the facility in northeast Wisconsin was purchased in 1960. In 1976, Northland Bible Institute was started. The following year, it changed its name to Northland Baptist Bible College. On April 7, 2009, the school created the name Northland International University as a canopy name for its four entities: Northland Baptist Bible College, Northland Graduate Studies, Northland Center for Global Opportunities, and Northland Online. Northland Community & Technical College (Northland) is a public community college with campuses in Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Northland also has an aerospace site in Thief River Falls and a satellite site in Roseau, Minnesota.
