The Nightrunner Series
The Nightrunner Series is a multi-part series of heroic fantasy novels by American writer Lynn Flewelling. It currently contains seven novels and a collection of related short stories. 'Nightrunning' refers to espionage, the principal occupation of the series' two protagonists, Seregil and Alec. The books also explores sexuality and gender roles, presenting a world where bi- and homosexuality are as accepted as heterosexuality, as well as a realm (Skala) which is ruled by Queens rather than Kings, and in whose army women warriors have a major role. The series has been published by Bantam Spectra and Del Rey Books. Both companies are owned by Random House, Inc. A prequel trilogy titled The Tamir Triad, written by Flewelling, takes place centuries beforehand. Nightrunner (Bilal Alsselah) is a fictional character created by David Hine and Kyle Higgins for publisher DC Comics. A comic book superhero, Nightrunner first appeared in '' Detective Comics Annual'' #12 (February 2011). The Night Runner
''The Night Runner'' is a 1957 American film noir drama film directed by Abner Biberman, produced by Albert J.Cohen, and starring Ray Danton and Colleen Miller. Its screenplay was written by Gene Levitt. The story focuses on a released mental patient who falls in love but cannot control his violent urges. Plot Roy Turner, a mental patient with a violent past, is prematurely released from a state mental hospital because of overcrowding. His psychiatrist advises him to avoid stressful situations. Realizing that he cannot handle the pressures of big-city life, he moves into a beach-side motel in a small coastal town in Southern California and falls in love with Susan Mayes, the daughter of the motel's owner, Loren. ''Nightrunners of Bengal'' is the title of the first novel by John Masters. It is a work of historical fiction set against the background of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. It was published in 1951 in the United Kingdom by Michael Joseph, London, and in the United States (also 1951) by the Viking Press, New York. The novel at first attracted criticism from reviewers, who objected to the depiction of Indians and what they perceived as overly graphic descriptions of acts of violence. However, it was made the American Literary Guild's Book of the Month on publication, and was widely sold.
