Naxxar () is a town and local council in the Northern Region of Malta. The population in March 2014 was 14,891. The Naxxar Church is dedicated to Our Lady of Victories. The annual village feast is celebrated on 8 September. It formerly hosted the Maltese International Trade Fair at Maltese International Trade Fair Grounds. Naxxar is spread over . Maltese International Trade Fair Grounds
The Trade Fair Grounds, also known as the Trade Fairs and Exhibition Centre, is a former fairground in Naxxar, Malta. It hosted various exhibitions and fairs throughout the year, but was mostly known for being the venue for the annual Malta Trade Fair. Prior to the construction of the trade fair complex, the area had been part of the gardens of Palazzo Parisio (Naxxar), Palazzo Parisio. History The fairground hosted forty-nine editions of the Malta Trade Fair, from 1958 to 2006. After the ground rent expired, the Malta Trade Fair was moved to the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre in Ta' Qali in 2007, and has been held there ever since. At this point, plans were made to redevelop the former fairground in Naxxar into a housing project, a local centre and an underground car park. In 2010, the Trade Fair Exhibitors Association took over the lease and applied to host the trade fair at the Naxxar complex again, but the licence was refused, resulting in a legal battle. Għargħur
Għargħur () is a village in the Eastern Region of Malta. It is situated on a hilltop between two valleys, and has a population of 2,768, as of March 2014. Għargħur Festa In Malta, each village celebrates a different patron saint or two depending on the number of churches in the locality. Each church is dedicated to a different saint. For this reason, some villages celebrate more than one "festa" per year. The village band clubs, at times in collaboration with the members of the parish, are tasked with the organisation of the "festa". The competition between the band clubs can be quite fierce when it comes to the organisation of decorations and the fireworks shows, even if there is only one "festa" in the village. Iklin
Iklin () is a village in the Eastern Region, Malta, Eastern Region of Malta, with a population of 3,247 as at 2021. Iklin was established in the mid-20th century; however some archaeological sites and a medieval chapel, named as St. Michael Chapel, are proof to earlier settlements. Until recently, the town was considered to form part of the Three villages of Malta, as part of Lija. With the separation of Iklin from Lija, Iklin is no longer part of the three villages. It is bordered by Għargħur, San Ġwann, Birkirkara, Balzan and Naxxar. Iklin is divided in Lower Iklin siding on the Birkirkara bypass and the Upper Iklin. Magħtab
Magħtab is a Malta, Maltese village. It lies in the valley of the same name in the Local councils of Malta, local council of Naxxar. It is the site of the largest landfill in the island, commonly known as 'Mount Magħtab'. That landfill was closed when Maltese European Union membership referendum, 2003, Malta joined the EU in 2004, but two others were subsequently opened. Victory Day (Malta)
Victory Day (or ''Otto settembre'') is a public holiday celebrated in Malta on 8 September and recalls the end of three historical sieges made on the Maltese archipelago, namely: the Great Siege of Malta by the Ottoman Empire ending in 1565; the Siege of Valletta by the French Blockade ending in 1800; and, the Siege of Malta during the Second World War by the Axis forces ending in 1943. Pembroke is a town in the Eastern Region, Malta, Eastern Region of Malta, and it is considered to be the country's newest locality. To the east is Paceville, the nightlife district of Malta. Swieqi () is a town in the Eastern Region of Malta. It is a residential area just 15 minutes by bus from Sliema and within walking distance of Malta's nightlife and entertainment centres, Paceville and St. Julian's.
