St Ives, New South Wales
St Ives is a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia 18 kilometres north of the Sydney Central Business District in the local government area of Ku-ring-gai Council. St Ives Chase is a separate adjacent area, designated suburb, to the west and north. History The St Ives area was first explored by Governor Arthur Phillip and a party of men in 1788 where they set up a campsite at Bungaroo which is close to what is now Hunter Avenue. The area produced a small-scale timber felling industry. There are still some examples of the thirty-metre and higher trees in nearby Pymble in the Dalrymple-Hay Nature Reserve and near Canisius College. National Trust Of Queensland
National Trust of Queensland is a membership-based community organisation to "promote the natural, Indigenous and cultural heritage" of Queensland. It was founded in 1963. It is a member of the National Trust of Australia, which federates the eight autonomous National Trusts in each Australian state and territory. The National Trust of Queensland is headquartered at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, 28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin, Queensland on the Gold Coast. All members who manage the organisation do so on a voluntary basis. The organisation conducts the National Trust of Queensland Heritage awards which were previously known as the John Herbert Memorial Awards. Library & Archives NT is the "state" library and archives for the Northern Territory of Australia. It has three venues located in Darwin (on the ancestral lands of the Larrakia people) and Alice Springs (on the land of the Arrernte people). It is the premier public research and archival organisation focused on the history, development and culture of the Northern Territory. The library holds more than 108,000 books and 30,000 items. The archive holds Northern Territory Government records, which are normally opened 30 years after they were created. The institution resulted from a 2020 merger of the Northern Territory Library and the Northern Territory Archives Service. Woodgreen Station
Woodgreen Station, also spelt Wood Green and also known as Atartinga, is a cattle station located in the Northern Territory of Australia, to the northeast of Alice Springs, extending approximately . It was also known as (Mer) Athatheng by some of the Indigenous people in the area. The first lessee of the pastoral lease created in 1918 was Bob Purvis Sr, who first ran it as a sheep station and bred horses, before introducing cattle. The property was very degraded by the time his son, Bob Purvis Jr, took it over in 1960, mainly due to overstocking. Since then, Bob Jr has slowly rejuvenated the property, making it a viable concern, albeit with much lower stocking rates of cattle, by applying some of the techniques of regenerative agriculture and developing his own methods to improve the soil.
