National Heroes Of Azerbaijan
The National Hero of Azerbaijan () is the highest Hero (title), national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law on 15 July 1992. The law on the title has been in effect since 25 December 1995. It can only be awarded once to the same person. The title is awarded for outstanding services of national importance to Azerbaijan in defence and strengthening of the state system and creation of important national values. Gold Star Medal (Azerbaijan)
The Qizil Ulduz Medal (Gold Star) () is an award that honors a National Hero of Azerbaijan. The award was established by Abulfaz Elchibey (the former President of Azerbaijan) on March 25, 1992 (by Decree No. 201). This award is conferred for bravery and courage shown in defense of the sovereignty, the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and for the protection of its civil population. History Original form The medal was initially in the form of a gold-filled crescent facing to the right that enclosed an eight-pointed star with flat dihedral rays on the front face. The rear side of the medal has a flat surface and is bound with a thin fillet going along the cutout. An inscription with the letters "National Hero of Azerbaijan" is located on the rear side. Two one mm shapes are on the upper edge of the medal. Riad Ahmadov
Riad Fikret oglu Ahmadov (, December 20, 1956 – January 25, 1992) was awarded the decoration Hero of Azerbaijan for his part in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Riad Ahmadov was a KGB-trained military officer who led a Special Intelligence unit in the Nagorno-Karabakh battles. Announced as missing in action in the Azeri Dashalty Operation on January 25, 1992 and he was awarded National Hero of Azerbaijan by decree of the President of Azerbaijan Republic No. 833 of June 7, 1992. Eldar Mammadov
Eldar Harun oglu Mammadov (; January 10, 1968 in Baku – February 24, 1993 in Qasapet) was an Azerbaijani military figure. He was awarded the decoration Hero of Azerbaijan for his part in the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Education After completing school No. 189 in Baku, Eldar Mammadov attended the Jamshid Nakhichevanski Military Lyceum in 1985–1989. After graduation, he studied at the Riga Higher Military Academy completing the course with political science degree. Career in the military Up until 1991, Mammadov was serving in the Soviet Army in Orenburg Oblast of Russia. Allahverdi Teymur oghlu Baghirov (; April 22, 1946 – June 14, 1992) was an Azerbaijani officer, former leader of the Azerbaijani Popular Front Party of Agdam, head coach of Qarabağ FK and National Hero of Azerbaijan. Mirasgar Seyidov
Mirasgar Mirabdulla oglu Seyidov () (6 February 1970 – 14 June 1992) - National Hero of Azerbaijan was born on February 6, 1970, in the Qaraxanbəyli village of the Nakhchivan city of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. Life Mirasgar Seyidov worked in his own village after finishing secondary school in 1987. He returned to Nakhchivan after being dismissed from the Soviet Army in 1990. In Battles The First Nagorno-Karabakh War did not pass by Nakhchivan either. Armenian forces started attacking villages of Nakhchivan constantly.
