Naleraq Politicians
Naleraq (), previously known as Partii Naleraq, is a centrist-populist pro-independence political party in Greenland. The party favors greater cooperation with the United States. While parties such as Inuit Ataqatigiit and Siumut also favor independence, Naleraq is seen as advocating for more immediate independence, and promised in the lead-up to the 2025 elections to hold a referendum on the issue. History In January 2014 Hans Enoksen announced that he was forming a new political party after leaving Siumut. In the November 2014 general election the party won three seats, taken by Enoksen, Per Rosing-Petersen (another former Siumut member) and Anthon Frederiksen (a former Association of Candidates member). In the April 2018 general election the party increased its vote share and won four seats in parliament. In May 2018 MP Henrik Fleischer left the party and switched to Siumut. On 15 February 2021 the party changed its name and logo. In June 2022 Hans Enoksen resigned as ...

2025 Greenlandic General Election
General elections were held in Greenland on 11 March 2025 to elect the 31 members of the Inatsisartut. The opposition Democrats won a plurality of ten seats. Background Independence was the most important issue of the election. The government declared in February 2024 that independence was its goal. At a press conference in early 2025, pro-independence prime minister Múte Bourup Egede said that "work has already begun on creating the framework for Greenland as an independent state" and apparently hinted that an independence referendum could take place in April 2025, in tandem with the election. In addition to the five parties already represented in the Inatsisartut, a new sixth party with a primary focus on Greenlandic independence, Qulleq, gained ballot access a month before the election. However, after American president-elect Donald Trump renewed his interest in Greenland, Egede played down any notion of immediate independence and instead stressed the need for reforms of ...

Centrist Parties In Denmark
Centrism is the range of political ideologies that exist between left-wing politics and right-wing politics on the left–right political spectrum. It is associated with moderate politics, including people who strongly support moderate policies and people who are not strongly aligned with left-wing or right-wing policies. Centrism is commonly associated with liberalism, radical centrism, and agrarianism. Those who identify as centrist support gradual political change, often through a welfare state with moderate redistributive policies. Though its placement is widely accepted in political science, radical groups that oppose centrist ideologies may sometimes describe them as leftist or rightist. Centrist parties typically hold the middle position between major left-wing and right-wing parties, though in some cases they will hold the left-leaning or right-leaning vote if there are no viable parties in the given direction. Centrist parties in multi-party systems hold a strong posi ...
