"Mute" is a crime short story by author Stephen King, first published in '' Playboy'' magazine in 2007 and subsequently collected in his work '' Just After Sunset'' in 2008. Plot summary Monette, a middle-aged traveling book salesman (his first name is never given), goes to confession. When the priest asks him what sin he has committed, Monette admits that he believes he has sinned in some way but is not entirely sure exactly what he is guilty of. He then explains the events of the preceding days. While on the road, Monette picked up a hitchhiker carrying a sign proclaiming him to be both deaf and mute. Pârvu Mutu (''Pârvu the Mute'', nickname of ''Pârvu Pârvescu''; 1657–1735) was a Wallachian Romanians, Romanian muralist and church painter. He was born in the town of Câmpulung as the sixth son of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Orthodox priest Ioan Pârvescu, and began his career as a church painter at the age of 12. Múte Inequnaaluk Bourup Egede (; born 11 March 1987) is a Greenlandic politician who served as the 7th Prime Minister of Greenland from 2021 to 2025. He has also served as Chairman of the Inuit Ataqatigiit since December 2018, and a Member of the Inatsisartut since May 2015. Early life Múte Inequnaaluk Bourup Egede was born in Nuuk on 11 March 1987. He grew up in Narsaq and was educated in Qaqortoq before studying cultural and social history at the University of Greenland in 2007.
