Streaming Services
A streaming media service (also simply called a streaming service) is an online platform that allows users to watch or listen to content, such as film, movies, Television show, TV shows, music, or podcasts, over the internet. Instead of downloading the content to their device, users can stream it in real-time, which means they can start watching or listening immediately without having to wait for the entire file to download. Popular examples of streaming services include Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, and Disney+. Streaming services offer instant access to content, allowing users to watch or listen on-demand without the need for downloads or physical media. An over-the-top media service (OTT) is a streaming media service offered directly to viewers via the Internet. Final Scratch
Final Scratch is a DJ tool created by the Dutch company N2IT with input from Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) and John Acquaviva that allows manipulation and playback of digital audio sources using traditional vinyl and turntables ( Vinyl emulation). It seeks to cross the divide between the versatility of digital audio and the tactile control of vinyl turntablism. Final Scratch uses special vinyl records pressed with a digital timecode, which are then played on normal turntables. The timecode signal is interpreted by a computer, connected to the turntables through an interface called the ScratchAmp. The signal represents where the stylus is on the record, in which direction it is traveling, and at what speed. This information is interpreted by the computer and used to play back a digital audio file which has been 'mapped' to the turntable. Bitwig Studio
Bitwig Studio is a proprietary digital audio workstation developed by Bitwig GmbH. Bitwig is available for Linux, macOS, and Windows. Bitwig is designed to be an instrument for live performances as well as a tool for composing, recording, arranging, mixing, and mastering. It offers a suite of controls for beatmatching, crossfading, and other effects used by turntablists. Bitwig supports both traditional linear music arrangement and non-linear (clip-based) production. It has multi-monitor and touch screen support. Bitwig is notable for its strong modulation and automation capabilities. BespokeSynth
BespokeSynth is a free and open-source software modular synthesizer and digital audio workstation. History Development of the BespokeSynth software was started in 2011, when Ryan Challinor wanted to learn more about creating music, but didn't want to learn "the intricacies of an existing DAW". In 2016, Ryan Challinor released the source code on GitHub under the terms of the GNU General Public License. On September 14, 2021, the version 1.0.0 was released with full documentation.
