The Municipality of Bohinj () is a municipality in the Upper Carniola region of northwest Slovenia. Its seat is the settlement of Bohinjska Bistrica. The municipality had 5,222 inhabitants in 2002. Ukanc
Ukanc () is a settlement near Lake Bohinj in the Municipality of Bohinj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It is southwest of the lake. The majority of buildings in the settlement are either hotels or holiday houses. Geography Ukanc is a scattered settlement on a shady rolling plain at the west end of Lake Bohinj at the end of the valley, where mountain walls rise on three sides, closed in by Mount Vogel (), Little Peak (''Mali vrh'', ), Mount Peršivec (), and Komarča Cliff (). It is connected by road to Bohinjska Bistrica. The soil largely consists of alluvium from the Ukanc Suha River (''Ukanška Suha'') and Žagar Gorge (''Žagarjev graben''), as well as the Savica River. In meteorological terms, Ukanc is one of the wettest places in Slovenia. Stara Fužina () is a settlement in the Municipality of Bohinj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. The northern tip of the village is located at Slovenia's highest peak, Triglav, and forms a tripoint with Trenta and Mojstrana settlements. The south of the village is located on the northern and eastern coast of Lake Bohinj. Name The name ''Stara Fužina'' literally means 'old foundry, old forge'. Srednja Vas v Bohinju (; ) is a village in the Municipality of Bohinj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It includes the hamlets of Kranjska Vas, Rudno Polje, V Renčah, Žale, Podojnica, Peca, Tržič, and Ptonec. Geography The territory of Srednja Vas v Bohinju extends northward from the village core in the south, along either side of the valley of Ribnica Creek to the western edge of the Pokljuka Plateau, with the Zajamniki, Praprotnica, and Uskovnica mountain pastures and the mountains above the Ore Valley (), including Mount Viševnik (). Ribčev Laz (, ) is a settlement on Lake Bohinj in the Municipality of Bohinj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Most of the settlement consists of hotels and holiday homes. Churches The local church dedicated to John the Baptist stands just outside the settlement on the shore of Lake Bohinj in the former settlement of Sveti Janez. It is built in a west-east orientation and is surrounded by an old cemetery wall with two entrances. Its origins are Romanesque but it was rebuilt in Gothic style in the 15th century and vaulted in the early 16th century, when some of the frescos were painted by Jernej of Loka. Ravne v Bohinju () is a settlement in the Municipality of Bohinj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. It includes the hamlets of Spodnji Konec, Zgornji Konec, and Dolino. Geography Ravne v Bohinju lies on a sloping mountain terrace above the railroad tunnel south of Bohinjska Bistrica. The village has a road connection to Bohinjska Bistrica, and the road continues west from the village into the foothills of the Komna Plateau.
