Muallim District
The Muallim District is the eleventh Districts of Malaysia, district of the state of Perak, Malaysia, situated at the southeastern tip of the state, bordering the state of Selangor. It was proclaimed by the current Sultan of Perak, Nazrin Shah of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah on 11 January 2016 at the Tanjung Malim District Council Building. The district was previously part of the neighbouring Batang Padang district. It covers an area of 93,435-hectares of land. The district includes the towns of Slim River, Behrang, Tanjung Malim and Proton City. It was given the name Muallim, the Arabic word for "teacher", because of the Sultan Idris Education University in the district. The university has produced many teachers since the colonial era. Slim River
Slim River is a small town in Muallim District, Perak, Malaysia. It is about 100 km (driving time 45 minutes) from Kuala Lumpur. It is situated in the southern part of Perak and is 20 km north of Tanjung Malim. It is about 100 km (driving time 1 hour) from Ipoh. The town is surrounded by many small villages. History The town is named after a nearby river, Sungai Slim. The word Sungai means river in Malay language, Malay. The river was named after an English captain, William Slim, in the 19th century. He accidentally went up the river instead of the Perak River which was the main waterway back then. Slim River was a military strategic midpoint from North to South of British Malaya, Malaya during World War II. Tanjung Malim
Tanjong Malim, or Tanjung Malim, is a town in Muallim District, Perak, Malaysia. It is approximately north of Kuala Lumpur and 120 km south of Ipoh via the North–South Expressway. It lies on the Perak-Selangor state border, with Sungai Bernam serving as the natural divider. "Tanjong Malim" usually refers to the territory under administration of Tanjong Malim District Council or ''Majlis Daerah Tanjong Malim (MDTM)'', which includes the smaller towns adjacent to the town such as Proton City, Behrang, Behrang 2020, Sungkai and Slim River. "Tanjong Malim" is also referred to the ''Old Town'' and ''New Town'' divided by the KTM Komuter rail at its heart. Behrang Stesen
Behrang Stesen (, Jawi: ; zh, t=美冷车站; ) is a small town located in Muallim District, Perak, Malaysia. It is situated within the parliamentary constituency of Tanjung Malim and is located approximately equidistant – on either side – to Tanjung Malim at its the southeast and to Slim River to its northwest respectively. History On 28th March 2020 at around 12:22am, a large fire razed an entire row of 11 wooden shophouses previously rebuilt in 1969 (after a similar-sized fire had first raged in the village). A spokesman for the Perak Division of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM Perak) confirmed that firefighters from nearby Slim River worked together with groups of volunteers from Slim Village, Kepong and Pekan Baru, as well as additional units from Kuala Kubu Bharu and Bidor to put out the fire. Batang Padang District
The Batang Padang District () is a district in Perak, Malaysia. This district is administered by a local council, namely, the Tapah District Council, based in Tapah. The major towns of Batang Padang are Bidor, Tapah and Sungkai. In August 2007 the Perak Government announced the discovery of large water aquifers at Batang Padang.
