The moose (: 'moose'; used in North America) or elk (: 'elk' or 'elks'; used in Eurasia) (''Alces alces'') is the world's tallest, Largest cervids, largest and heaviest extant taxon, extant species of deer and the monotypic taxon, only species in the genus ''Alces''.
