Miss World America
The United States has continuously sent a representative to Miss World since its inception in 1951. The United States has won the Miss World crown three times in 1973, 1990 and 2010. Currently, Miss World America is the official national pageant that selects the contestant from the United States to Miss World. The current Miss World America is Athenna Crosby of California, who was crowned on November 17, 2024, at the Highline Performing Art Center in Burien, Washington. She represented the United States at 72nd Miss World 2025 pageant. A beauty pageant is a competition in which the contestants are judged and ranked based on various physical and mental attributes. Per its name, beauty pageants traditionally focus on judging the contestants' physical attractiveness, sometimes solely so, but most modern beauty pageants have since expanded to also judge contestants based on "inner beauty"—their individual traits and characteristics, including personality, Human intelligence, intelligence, aptitude, moral character, and Charity (practice), charity. Miss United States is a pageant held in the United States for unmarried women between the ages of 20 and 29. The pageant includes women selected to represent all 50 states, District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Miss United States pageant's mission is to "celebrate intelligent women of all walks of life." Karen Brucene Smith-Galvan (née Smith; born June 21, 1951) is an American model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World USA 1971 and Miss International 1974. Early life Galvan was born and raised in Port Lavaca, Texas, by parents David Bruce Smith and Belle Dunlap-Smith, and grandmother Adela Dunlap. She grew up with four sisters: Cynthia, Darlene, Carrie, and Suzanne; and one brother, Robert Bruce. Her father, David Bruce, named her after him, Brucene. Dian Parkinson (born Diana Lynn Batts; November 30, 1944) is an American former actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder. She represented the United States at Miss World 1965 in London, where she placed 1st runner-up. From 1975 to 1993, Parkinson served as a model on ''The Price Is Right''. Miss World 2010 was the 60th anniversary of the Miss World pageant, held at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China, on 30 October 2010, after Vietnam backed out of the hosting contract. Alexandria Nichole Mills (born February 26, 1992) is an American model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 2010 on October 30, 2010, in Sanya, China. Mills is the third woman from the United States to win Miss World. Early life Mills, a resident of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, had an interest in modeling at least as early as the eighth grade; following Mills' victory in Miss World 2010, a counselor at her middle school recalled that she had a modeling portfolio even then. Gina Tolleson
Gina Marie Tolleson (born March 26, 1969) is an American model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World America, Miss World America 1990 and also Miss World 1990. Miss World 1990 Gina won the title of Miss South Carolina USA 1990 and was the first runner-up at Miss USA 1990. She went on to win the Miss World beauty pageant in 1990, representing the United States. Gina was coached by C.B. Mathis of CB's Limited in Lancaster, SC.
