''Microsoft Flight Simulator'' is a series of Flight simulation video game, flight simulator programs for MS-DOS, Classic Mac OS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems. ''Microsoft Flight Simulator'' is a 2020 flight simulation video game developed by Asobo Studio and published by Xbox Game Studios. It is a reboot of the ''Microsoft Flight Simulator'' series which began in 1982, and is a sequel to ''Microsoft Flight Simulator X'' (2006). The game's development began six years prior to its release. It was released on August 18, 2020, for Windows, with a virtual reality (VR) version released in December of the same year as part of the free Sim 2 update. ''Microsoft Flight Simulator'' is the first game in the series to see a VR and Home video game console, console release, with it being released on the Xbox Series X and Series S on July 27, 2021. The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2019 (E3 2019) was the 25th E3, during which hardware manufacturers, software developers, and publishers from the video game industry presented new and upcoming products to the attendees, primarily retailers and members of the video game press. The event, organized by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 11–13, 2019. Many companies held its press conferences in the days prior, with the exception of Sony, which skipped the event for the first time.
