Michael Collins (astronaut)
Michael Collins (October 31, 1930 – April 28, 2021) was an Italian-born American astronaut who flew the Apollo 11 Command module Columbia, command module ''Columbia'' around the Moon in 1969 while his crewmates, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, made the first crewed landing on the Moon's surface, surface. He was also a test pilot and Major general (United States), major general in the United States Air Force Reserve, U.S. Air Force Reserve. Born in Rome, Italy, where his father was serving as the U.S. military attaché, Collins graduated in the Class of 1952 from the United States Military Academy. He followed his father, brother, uncle, and cousin into the military. Neil Armstrong
Neil Alden Armstrong (August 5, 1930 – August 25, 2012) was an American astronaut and aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineer who, in 1969, became the Apollo 11#Lunar surface operations, first person to walk on the Moon. Caroline Clendening Laise (November 14, 1917 – July 25, 1991) was an American civil servant, ambassador to Nepal and the first female Assistant Secretary of State. Early life and education Born in Winchester, Virginia, to Elizabeth Frances (''née'' Stevens) and James Frederic Laise. She received a Bachelor of Arts in public administration in 1938 from American University, where she was a member of the Gamma Delta chapter of Phi Mu fraternity. Dixon Donnelley (July 29, 1915 – January 1982) was United States Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs from 1966 to 1969. Biography Donnelley was born in Forest Hills, New York on July 29, 1915. He was a student at Columbia University from 1934 to 1937.
